I used to believe in the afterlife of eternal bliss and that I would live there after I die. Having this belief was an absolute psychological need for me that I desperately depended upon my whole life. Why? It is because most of us as human beings are hardwired for survival. The desire to live forever is hardwired into us. At least, that is, most of us. Some people are actually fine for whatever reason with the idea of dying forever.
This hardwired feature is stronger in some people...
Anybody and or everybody from Theists or Non-Theists may freely comment here.
Is Islam able to integrate into Europe, Canada, Australia etc, seamlessly? By the way, I'm not talking about the westernised Muslims here, the ones who know a few Qur'anic ayat and not much else. I mean are the values that the Qur'an, Shariah, etc. promote, compatible with Western Values?
I cant think of another phrase, but how do you personally build a relationship with your deities, ancestors, god/s, and/or spirits (and/or so forth)? (DAGSetcs)
This isnt limited to each I mentioned above.
I mean, I pray, do ritual, give offerings, basically conversate but how do you really get to know DAGSetcs. I know the feelings and the aurophia (I think its called) you get when messages and other things happen when your DAGSetc communicate with you.
When I say relationship, I mean...
Saw the above thread but the author seems to have made a mistake instead of saying theist, he wrote Atheist and so i thought let me correct this
Who is leading the fight against Science? Not Atheists. Who is still insisting that the world was made in 7 days, that dinosaurs did not exist, still trying to deny evolution? Not Atheists
Sadly, lack of knowledge seems to define theists - and they are giving the rest of us theists a bad name
Once, a long time ago when we knew little about the...
One of the teachings of Quran and muslim Traditions, is that, every people have a Term. For example, once the Term for Jews ended, Jesus appeared with a new Book. The Period of Christians ended when Muhammad appeared.
Quran and Hadithes teach, that the Muslims also with no exception were appointed a period:
"To every people is a term appointed: when their term is reached, not an hour can they cause delay, nor (an hour) can they advance (it in anticipation)." Quran 7:34
Imagine a world where the thought of God, a god, or a Creator never crossed anyone's mind. The concept simply does not exist. Would there be an increase in open mindedness regarding what is scientific fact and what is theory?
For example, there's a lot of emotion behind the suggestion that evolution may be only a theory. The motivation behind the suggestion may be to preserve the belief in creationism. The atheist wants nothing of this, so he's adamant that evolution is a fact, that the...
“By abortion, the mother does not learn to love, but kills even her own child to solve her problems. … Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want. This is why the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion.” -- Mother Teresa.
Personally, the shallowness of the notion that abortion is the greatest destroyer of love and peace grates on me like nails screeching across a chalkboard grate on some folks. I wince at...
Muslims believe that their prophet is the greatest example of a man ever to walk this earth (this despite some also saying that all prophets are equal, but we'll put that aside for a while).
Muslims, I challenge you to prove to me that Muhammad was a better example of a human being than anyone before or after him. I am of the opinion that he was an immoral religious fanatic who practiced senseless violence.
I'll start with a couple of quotes from Ibn Ishaq, Biographer of Muhammad:...
