Why did you take birth? To toil lifelong, to bring children into this world, try to give them education, and die in the end — most likely in pain?

    Who is responsible for this?
    ...

Nobody can put you into a prison. You are already there.

It is only in a human body that the goal of life can be realized.

From a less universal perspective, the Baal Shem Tov said "A soul may descend to earth and live seventy or eighty years for the sole purpose of doing a favor for another. A spiritual favor, or even a material favor."

I don't think anyone answers those questions better than the author of the Bible. I know it makes sense to me.

This is not the life we were supposed to live.....we was robbed!!

The Bible tells of the Creator beginning life on a carefully prepared planet, and as his crowning achievement, he created beings in his own likeness, not physically, but morally and spiritually. None in the animal Kingdom compare to the ones he assigned as caretakers on this tiny speck in a vast Universe. They were to populate the earth and to look after all that God had placed here....the animals, the earth itself and one another.

There was not supposed to be children brought to birth with the futility of aging, sickness and death as their only outcome...we know that in our hearts. Those things are as foreign to our psyche today as they were when they first took place.
Our accumulated knowledge and wisdom was not supposed to terminate in death and be lost and wasted. We have a brain that has the capacity for endless learning....and a inner need to go on living....forever.

So what happened to rob us of the wonderful prospects that were originally put before humankind?
The Bible says that a spirit creature from God's realm, abused his free will and stepped out of the confines of his position, and wanted what was rightfully God's.....something he had no right to claim.....worship.

The only way to do that was to separate the humans from their God and take his place. He knew that if they disobeyed God's command that they would die...so he lied to the woman and she disobeyed God's command, then in turn, she influenced her husband as this first rebel hoped she would....and the rest as they say...is history. He had an endless supply of worshippers if he could do the same to them as he did to the first pair. He has been lying to mankind ever since....and they have been falling for his lies all this time.

Life and death in this world is indeed a prison, but not one without a door and a key.

God has promised to restore his original plan, and release those who have succumbed to death, but not until all intelligent creation understands why they need to obey their Maker in all things. He foretold that the end of this world as we know it, would look exactly as it does now......the whole world in chaos.....we are all proving every day that we need God in our lives to teach us how to live the life we have been given. Those who look to him for guidance and respect his laws will be in line for the life that is coming.....the one we should have had all along.

And to all of you who’ve ever asked, “Where does forever end?”
Where are the boundaries to eternity, or can eternity begin?
Did God once wallow in the mud and frolic with the swine?
And did the consciousness of life begin--- in the body of mankind?”
To all those souls in torment, who from the wilderness cry out,
“All you Swamis, Priests, and Gurus, tell us what life’s all about.
Are you teachers of enlightenment, or blind men who lead the blind
Can the Alpha and Omega, encompass all of time?”
To the prisoners in the dungeons of those shepherds of the night
To the tortured souls in those dungeon holes, who long to see the light
Let these words be milk and honey, to strengthen everyone
Who are waiting for the brilliant light, of He who is to come. The Anointed.

    Two questions:

    Who are you talking to?

    What are you talking about?

    Time.

The journey from "No-time" -to- "Time" and back -to- "No-time" includes many rebirths and pain.

    Correct that.

No one is responsible. In the bare scheme of things, we do what nature tells our bodies to do-breathe, heart pump. Thinking and choosing isn't isolated. Our brains can't think of songs etc. They are neurons and electrical impulses. When we see external objects, our brains don't put any special meaning to them. We are literally a product of nature's processes and we are born, live, age, and die in those processes. I heard it explained from a couple other places much more easier than I could. No one is responsible. We are who we are.

IDK, Understanding it is overrated, imho.

But I think it's all for the best even the suffering and the work.

As a created being, arriving here without a user-manual on life. I think it's easier not seek understanding of mySelf and instead enjoy doing what I was made to do: live a mortal life. If/When questing for understanding interferes with the enjoyment of that mortal life, I opt for life instead of understanding.

Yes, usually it's in the form of a joke. The misunderstanding sneaks up on me, and then I laugh.

Other times Miss Understanding slithers her way up my spine and whispers sweet nothings in my ear.

Life often teaches about winning, so we must decide what the game is. A lot of us complain ( I know I do ) that if we just had more time we could do more or that life is pointless if we don't have more time. Life seems too short to be meaningful, right? We miss out on so many opportunities, right? There is always pressure to think it even though we know its backward! If there is a goal it must involve appreciation of living. Let us assume in life the goal is appreciation of life, because if we can't appreciate a little then we wouldn't appreciate a lot, either.

Considering the above: if we are, in fact, being(s) of another existence then I think I have identified the challenge and what the goal of the competition is. You're welcome. ;)

I'm afraid I don't understand the question. I find it very confusing with how it is worded.

I didn't choose to be born. I didn't exist, let alone exist in any form capable of choice. Even when I was born the question would have been fairly meaningless to me for the first five years at best.

Should I foresee a painful death for me, because I live in a city I have ready access to palliative care.

You seem to imply that being alive is the dirty end of the stick. I respectfully but firmly disagree.

And yes, the male and female bodies are role-specific in the breeding process. We brought three kids into the world, my wife doing the hard work and me helping round the fringes. They're doing their own version of that now.
Evolution, and my parents, and (given the spermatozoon race) plain luck.

    I'm not whining.

I always blame women. After all, that's what God created them for, right? So men would never have to take any responsibility. :D

Why not ask all other life - you'll probably get as reasonable an answer as here, when the only other option is no life. Best thing since sliced bread if you ask me.
