U2 is correct- the rest are incorrect. I am kinda surprised that C1 knows about The Germs; I mean growing up in Montreal there aren't a lot of good L.A. quality punk bands to admire. I guess that explains Avril Lavigne.
Pretty funny stuff. However, people who are stuck on the Joshua Tree sound haven't heard most of U2's music. They're so much more than that guitar effect. Besides, nearly every band has a signature "sound". It's what brings people back again.U2 is correct- the rest are incorrect.
U2 is the best band on the list produced. Over here Kids listen to SD to be cool, they're not bad. The Germs are one of those classic punk bands people listen to because they're "pioneers," not because they sound awesome. Example YouTube - Germs - Manimal i think he was so destroyed on acid he didn't know who or where or what he was haha. They're like the Darkthrone of Black Metal, pretty average sound quality but what followed them was much better.

For the record, the Germs can't really be co sidered classic, since they only out out one album that was only soldinone store in LA while they were together. And considering even people who were in the scene in LA at the time don't k ow who the Germs are, doesn't actually make for classic. The reason people likethe Germs isn't because of howthey sound, it's because Darby Crash was a lyrical genius.
And also just for the record, it was heroin, not acid. He died of an overdose from it in 1980.
Good lyrics don't make up for shocking sound. Another example is tool. Probably 10x more over rated than any other band on the planet.
I agree, although I must say I do enjoy mr Keenan in A Perfect Circle. :yes:Good lyrics don't make up for shocking sound. Another example is tool. Probably 10x more over rated than any other band on the planet.
It's a good thing my wife didn't hear you say this...

OI!Still think it's funny/impressive how some people can put these words into one sentence
All i have to do is show her footage of their Big Day out Performance here 2 years ago and she will shrivel up and die haha. It was awful. I never cared much for tool, they try to hard to be musical legends when they're not. Live they were just............ horrible.
just.....can't.....take.....back......
Well, when I saw them, they were incredible. Maybe it was just a terrible "Big Day Out" ... do you expect them to be perfect after JUST flying to Australia?
Tool, anything but great? BLASPHEMY!! they are musical legends(period) no excuses needed
who said anything about metallica? dont care for them, and never have. but Tool, im shocked. whats wrong with Tool?
A lot. The reviews even more so than the band. People who think this band are special honestly must be on more drugs than the band themselves. The band used to be ok but the more people rave about them the more i hate them.
I can't count how many arguements ive had over Maynards supposibly "wonderful voice."
If you want to hear a wonderful voice listen to this YouTube - Lamented Souls - Essence of Wounds
