Seems that died from Covid and died with covid means the same thing when it comes to reporting Covid death in many instances.
From the linked article: Dr. Leana Wen slammed after admitting there's been 'overcounting' of COVID deaths: ‘TWO AND A HALF YEARS LATE’
"Since every hospitalized patient gets tested for COVID many are incidentally positive." Wen noted how people with gunshot wounds or other serious illnesses often test positive for the virus, and wrote, "If these patients die, COVID might get added to their death certificate along with the other diagnoses. But the coronavirus was not the primary contributor to their death and often played no role at all."

Does the mean that government overreacted in dealing with covid?

Of course they over reacted.

Pathologically over reacted for nothing but political and monetary reasons, and attempts to shut up and censor those who realized the actual situation whom were trying to call them out on it.

Particularly the Association of Physicians and Surgeons who were truthful about the government insanity that proceed with the destruction of people's lives and lively hood by the government.

There are many many doctors, few of whom
are trained in epidemiology. So no matter
what agenda one pursues, one can find a
doctor who supports it.
This raises the question....is this opinion
founded on cromulent data & analysis?

This isn't really big news - it was known about even back when Covid was rife, because determining an exact cause of death in lots of instances can be very difficult, and since Covid primarily kills due to comorbidity rather than because it itself is deadly on its own it can be hard to determine whether or not Covid played a role in a death or not.

Regardless, looking at overall excess deaths in the years of the outbreak compared to the years before the outbreak, it's pretty obvious that Covid was not exaggerated.

Oh, a Fox link again, so we are to blindly believe that propaganda channel?

Most analysis I've read or listened to think the numbers were vastly undercounted because many people who died a "mysterious death" could not be counted as covid fatalities, and hospitals and doctors could be in serious trouble if they fudged the figures. Also, how many died in their homes without ever getting tested for covid?

Again, just more Fox political trash.

Fox? Nah...

Covid weakens and effects various systems in the body.
When a system is compromised from gunshot wounds and the system is already compromised from covid the covid will be a contributing factor in the patients ability to recover.

The CDC recommended this at the beginning.

No, it just means Fox found a physician willing to go against sound, peer reviewed data, and because it's Fox it's no surprise. It's no different than the NFL carefully choosing physicians who will say there is no link between brain trauma and playing football despite the enormous amounts of evidence that clearly shows this link exists.
Or tobacco companies who did the same. That's just not true and we know, based on medical data, tobacco smoking is hazardous despite what physicians and researchers paid by the tobacco companies are saying.

Spot-on. The excess deaths are the most reliable way to see the impact. At least, the impact as far as actual deaths go. There is a significant population of people with long term after-effects as well.

This is just a "So what?" argument. Even if true the number of Covid deaths is much much more likely to have been undercounted. Yes, a few people with Covid were likely added to the list when the disease was not the cause of their deaths. But there are also many people that were not tested and died and probably died due to Covid.

Do you know how we know that?
