Out of curiosity: do you know of any church that refuses to hire straight people?
Not yet, but if people are trying to make a political point, this could be one way.

Which people, and what point would they be making? Not yet, but if people are trying to make a political point, this could be one way.
Which people, and what point would they be making?
May not have any other choice. Especially those living in a rural setting. Gay or not, choices tend to be very limited in such places.I would ask a different question. If you were gay, why would you want to force and organization that is against homosexuality to hire you?
That's a different issue, I think.May not have any other choice. Especially those living in a rural setting. Gay or not, choices tend to be very limited in such places.
You can then list some religious qualifications on the application form, because it matters.
It heavily relates to the topic at hand. That's a different issue, I think.
Yes to both. If liberal churches only want to hire gay people that's their choice. I don't see a problem. If you argue yes, then should liberal churches be legally allowed to discriminate by not hiring straights?
I suspect that the people asking questions of the "why would you ever want an unpleasant job?" persuasion:I would ask a different question. If you were gay, why would you want to force and organization that is against homosexuality to hire you?
Ah.That discrimination works both ways. You reap what you sow.
I think you have to distinguish between church and business, like they tried to with Hobby Lobby. If you argue yes, then should liberal churches be legally allowed to discriminate by not hiring straights?
Not for me, but it would be for certain churches.Sexual orientation, is a religious qualification?
Personally, I wouldn't want a secular court ruling on the validity of any religion. Why would you?The first question we need to ask is "Is Christianity a religion or are people culturally Christian"? if it's the latter, then it doesn't matter who is hired. if Christianity is a religion then they need to prove its validity.
How can they prove its validity?
1. the accuracy of the bible
2. the lack of contradictions
3. Proof Jesus was the real author of the bible and introduced the modern doctrines
If you argue yes, then should liberal churches be legally allowed to discriminate by not hiring straights?

IF churches want to discriminate THEN they automatically choose to be discriminated in returnShould churches be allowed to discriminate based on the skin color of the person they're hiring? To me the same reasoning applies to the op.
Personally, I wouldn't want a secular court ruling on the validity of any religion. Why would you?
NOShould Apple have to hire a Microsoft employee? Should the US Army have to hire a
member of the Chinese Communist Party? Should the NRA have to hire an anti-gun
lobby member? Should Greenpeace have to hire a spokesman for the oil lobby? Should
Jehovah Witnesses allow an atheist to join their organization?
Isn't all this about the right of association?
