When I look up at the sky at night, and see the stars...

BSM1

What? Me worry?
From a practical stand point, this should not be done while driving...just sayin'.

...I marvel at how insignificant I am. And, it's a good thing.

What do you find fascinating about your life in comparison to the universe?
There is this paradox I become acutely aware of when I am in a state of awe in the presence of the night sky, otoh I feel as you say insignificant, but there is also simultaneously and unambiguously, an inner source of my being 'saying' non verbally that all this is what and who you really are!

I find it a fascinating perspective to look down at the universe, rather than up, just because.
I flip maps around as well, just because......its fascinating.
Most people can't recognise the world map (not immediately) (Mercater projection) if it's turned the other way around.

I am the universe. And I know nothing.
I am the universe formed into a creature with senses and a mind.
I look inward at myself, and outward at myself, and know nothing.
So I make myself a cup of tea, and contemplate my death.

Hmmm...someone put mushrooms in the honey, and it has turned blue.
Oh well, I’m sure it will be fine. It looks pretty.

How insignificant not only us (life) is but the entire panet.

This Pale Blue Dot is a photograph of planet Earth taken on February 14, 1990, by the Voyager 1 space probe from a distance of about 6 billion kilometers. It had not even left our own solar system

Isn't it a non sequitur fallacy to look at the size of the universe and then claim that we are insignificant because of how small we are in comparison to it? What does size in relation to the universe have to do with value? What's the link between the two? Unless of course you are subjectively using it as a personal standard for how you measure value, which in that case it makes sense

I am small and very insignificant in relation to the physical aspects of the universe, but God exists and knows little ole me.

I love looking up at the sky at night, but folks like Professor Cox have made me lazy because I can see and understand so much more by watching his programs.

My wife and I used to lay on the grass in the darkness, looking upwards in the hope of seeing shooting stars. But that always seemed to lead to other activities........ I was a bad lad, back in the day..... and night.

Who says life has value to the universe? Just ask it and wait for the answer.

Who says we (humans) are even valuable to our own planet? Certainly in recent (few hundred years) we seem to be doing our best to destroy it

Life is only valuable to itself and in the scheme of things (the universe) meh!
