Getting back to the title of this thread what do you think that their verdict will be? I like to think that it will be this:

    I make no predictions.
The problem is that the court often rules based upon its
perception of what is best for the country according to
their values & experiences. The law will then be bent
    to that agenda.

Aaahh, you're no fun. For example if they decide to draft old coots like us the result could be:

However, I do belive you have implied that you carry a firearm for protection. How is that any different from joining the military to protect your family and others from the possible outcome from WWII?

Many wars are immoral and not fought for the defense of the country. Being ordered to kill others to protect the nation from what some perceive as a threat is not the same as self defense of one's family.

In prison for resisting the draft?
    I'd never go along.

    I carry a handgun voluntarily.
But for the people & their government to force a
minority to do the fighting for them for minimal
    compensation is unacceptable.

Is that even a question of law before the court?

Does that mean you oppose the form of required working for others called taxes?

The need for a draft registration is obsolete. Modern computers and identification databases have made it unnecessary. If the government ever truly needed to mobilize for a war it could do it without the intrusive draft registration we have now. Plus in a genuine, and highly unlikely, case of such a needed mobilization the populace would step up and volunteer.

I mean, really, what is this, the olden days?

Let’s just get rid of the draft registration and make this case moot.

There are easier ways to avoid it.

If whether the draft constitutes involuntary servitude is not a question before the court they will not be ruling on it.
