    Oh how I love this.

How Many Animals Were On Noah’s Ark?

Since Ark Encounter opened and is touted as a replica of the actual ark of Noah, citing a scientific foundation as well as religious, an interesting question now arises in regards to Ken Hams pet project now that's its properly established.

If this is meant to be an actual representation to scale of Noah's ark then that must include the representation of animals to scale inside the ark as well.

It leads me to the question I have since spring and summer is approaching.

Has anyone ever counted the animals inside Ken Hams ark? Are there actually 7000 replicas of every species on earth inside Kens ark right now if I were to go to Kentucky to gawk at this sight?

Has anyone actually counted them yet and informed Ken he needs to put more animals inside? Don't forget the food and supplies for such a journey, but for now, I'm willing to forget that aspect and just want to know if there are presently 7000 replicas made to scale inside this ark masquerading as a Biblical museum.

    If not, then why?

How Did Noah Fit All the Animals on the Ark?

Otherwise this is not even a good proof

My interpretation is that the Noah flood myth is derived from the earlier Mesopotamian flood myths about Utnapishtim/ Atrahasis which were probably originally written after a catastrophic regional flood. In those versions of the flood, it was not all the animals of the earth. The inhabitants on board the ark were the protagonist and his family, village craftsman, and some livestock.

A quick gawk at the website declares that the Bible says "kinds", not "species." And of course kinds are a broader category. An excellent get-out clause if I might say. He should have said there were just, say, four kinds of animal. Probably small ones. Then he wouldn't have needed an ark, he could have got away with a canoe.
    Only in America.

Yes, they have to use increasingly contorted reasoning to get the notion to stand up. But criticising this is just like shooting fish in a barrel. It's barely worth the effort.

Unless, I suppose, you are in a position where you actually meet people at dinner parties who take all this literally. Luckily I don't live (any longer) in the US Bible Belt .

I always wondered where noah keep 7 blue whales. Yes seven, whale meat is food.

Talking of food. Where was enough food kept to feed and ark load of animals for almost a year?

Because whales are fish, they stayed in the flood waters.
    Duh!

Enh. It's taken as a given in the Ark story that magic poofing is involved, so magic poofing is going to be available as an explanation for anything that would be physically impossible.

    - could the Ark hold all the animals? Maybe, through magic poofing, it's like a TARDIS: way bigger on the inside than the outside.

    - how did the animals all have enough food and water for the time in the Ark? Magic poofing ensured they were all fed and watered.

    - how did all the people an animals on board not suffocate? God magically poofed out CO2 and poofed in fresh air.

I think it's a mistake to demand that the Ark story be consistent with reality as we know it. It's a tale of a magical realm with magical beings; the only consistency it needs is its own internal consistency.

    Water would pose as problem.

Drinking rain water can be safe, and Noah and family can collect rain water, but creationists don’t think because the vessel such as ark may be consider, collecting and storing water, the water won’t remain sanitary for long, since humans and animals also sweat, urine and poop, it wouldn’t be possible to keep the ark clean. So sanitation would be bad and animal waste would have easily confined spaces.

So collected rainwater still needs be to properly filtered and even boiled, if they need to store the water for more than a couple of days.

So to store water and to filter water, they would needs more space. It is logistic nightmare.

And them plus being stuck for a whole year, I don’t see how the humans and animals survived and remain healthy for that long, without diseases wiping them out.

On my trip to Lexington KY, I saw a road sign
for some kind of ark exhibit. I didn't stop for it.

Whales are a/not fish and b/ salt water mammals intolerance to fresh water. And when it rains (fresh water) so much it fills the earth to higher than the highest mountain (Everest even then) requiring around 80 times more water than has ever existed on earth and given fluid dynamics that sea water is going to become awfully fresh.

So the only place any salt water animal will be safe is in the salt water pool on the ark

    Simples

God would've given the fish (eg, whales, anchovies) immunity to salinity changes.

From a global flood view all our highest mountains of today are post flood mountains. Post flood sea fossils being found on top of those mountains.

The real problem issue is the geological dating of the global flood fossils in the 100's of millions of years. The same type of fossils being found on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. South American and Africa.

Well of course modern earth science accounts for all that perfectly simply, doesn't it?

Or do you think it doesn't?

Not good at understanding geology and tectonics are you?

We can start by dating the claimed flood sometime after the evolution of human beings around 2 million years ago.
Considering the sea water fossils on Everest have been dated up to 400 million years old i see no problem.

It is a real issue. sedimentary rock cannot be dated directly. Post flood igneous rock which as molten rock had incroached into the sediment must be used to date it. Which theoretically sets a lower date for the sediment at that location.

There's an ark built to size in the harbor in Amsterdam the last I read, but they're not willing to send it out in the bay because computer models indicate it would likely tip over sideways.

The Flood account is likely a myth probably made to refute the earlier written and much more widespread Babylonian account.
