It seems to me that many RF posters believe there is no ultimate truth; or if there is, we cannot get to know it. IMO, Jesus Christ believed truth was attainable. He famously said: "you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32)
Do you believe the truth exists and is available to those seeking for it? Are people afraid of the truth?

Do I believe the truth exists? I don't know how to answer that without asking more questions. What kind of exiting? Which truth? What is truth?

Do I believe it is available? I don't know how to answer that either without asking more questions. Like those above, but some other ones relating to epistemology.

Are people afraid of it? I wouldn't find it appropriate to generalize about people's fears. But, on the whole, I'd place a bet that people are far less afraid of this alleged thing called "the truth" than they are about how other people will use it. Far too often, the so-called "truth" is wielded as a weapon that destroys other cultures and ways of life.

I don't agree with "ultimate-greatest-highest-most" and words like that. I also don't agree that we all share one truth. That is discrediting the variety of cultures and people in the world with whom in their own right, their family, and community lives their truth just as you live yours and I live mine. Going into a career were culture and language sensitivity is a must, I learn more and more that we can't make truth as a blanket for all people. So it's not jesus. It's not The Buddha. It's not Krishna. It's not Muhammad. It's not Ordin. It's not..... while it is at the same time because these people are not truth for all people but those who choose to uphold these truths to help themselves in their lives just as every other person.

With that said, the only truth I know is understanding other people's worldview beyond tolerance and beyond a flat face respect. We take interest in who other people are and that's how we bring peace to humanity to not only respecting people's truths but actually saying I do not hold THE truth and because I don't, I can see people for who they really are even if I disagree. That's peace. That's wholesomeness. It doesn't cause wars. (RF would probably go out of business if people respected each other's truths beyond tolerance).

Sometimes I just want to cry because when I hear it in person, sometimes I think maybe that person doesn't have enough time to gather their thoughts or maybe that person knows they just find it hard to articulate. However, online, we have time to write what we have to say. We have time to gather our thoughts, research, and take time to understand others. So we do represent ourselves online. Truth holds no reservations.

    There is no one-sided truth.

Truth is the easiest thing in the world to find.
Don't ask an adult though because none of them seem to know where to find it.
    A child knows.
It is found in things like honesty, integrity and humility.
Things that are instinctive to children unless they have been taught otherwise.

    Is there truth of course.
Are you able to learn it, yes.
Does it have any value doubtful.

Life is about choices, good and bad. Life is about challenges and how we handle them. Life doesn't care about truth. Truth is a tested, verified outcome of the past or a determined future. Life is about the constantly changing present.

Well, I believe the ultimate truth is that Brahman Alone is Real. What does that mean? It means that Consciousness/God/Brahman is the fundamental on which the entire universe is derived. As a creative act/play/drama of Brahman He separates Himself from Himself and returns Himself to Himself. The material universe is just the props in this play/drama. It is all divine play.

For me truth is the totality of this very moment that I'm experiencing. Each moment the truth changes as my experience changes.
I actually assume this is the truth Jesus was speaking about. The Kingdom of God is at hand, right here right now. Folks just look for it someplace else.

Knowing that now is the truth sets you free from all the false concepts of truth that we are taught to believe in. You want to know the truth? Look around you and experience it.

Look at a child with his ball. The ball is his truth. They don't have to question or worry about it. Just go play with it, experience it, see what they can do with a ball, have fun. The truth of kicking the ball is kicking the ball.

Truth does exist. Finding it, however, is the tricky part.

The Ultimate Truth, to me, is the unity that joins everything together. It is the deep, intimate understanding that everything that exists is part of the same Whole. To "know" the Truth, one must experience it firsthand. It cannot be taught, or even reached through intellect alone.

The statement "There is no truth", if true disproves itself.

Of course there is truth, but we only have bits and pieces of it mixed in with a lot of bull****.

Amazing how a second hand hearsay account, written decades after the apparent death of Jesus, has a direct quote that is trustworthy.

Heere's a direct quote from me, Kuzcotopia:

"One night soon, you will see what is unseen, and that sight will cause you to know what is to be understood as what you saw." (Kuzcotopia 1:1)

I wouldn't trust this quote from Kuz though. It's overgeneralized nonesense.

Truth is that which is in accordance with fact or reality.

As far as the Truth to which you refer, it is knowledge of divinity gained by the Laws of Nature, Science, and Spirituality. Many will give you their version of the Ultimate Truth™, but these are rarely more than personal truths.

Universal Truth, as I see it, is attainable, but it requires more effort than reading a book. It requires intense study of all world religions, research in and knowledge of science, research in esoteric or occult knowledge, and full awareness and knowledge of Self.

I'm good with the truth.:) Another Baha'i perspective to share....

'Bahá’u’lláh inculcates the basic principle of the relativity of religious truth, the continuity of Divine Revelation, the progressiveness of religious experience. His aim is to widen the basis of all revealed religions and to unravel the mysteries of their scriptures.' Shoghi Effendi

    Just spreading the love:sparkles:

I think we can limit our vision when we imagine one religion or ideology has the monolopy on truth.

I do believe in truth, and I believe we each have it, regardless of ourselves. I don't know if anyone is afraid of it.
