God made a promise to Noah right after the flood abated.

    Gen 8:22,

While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
I don't see climate change there. No need to fear, God is here!

I also don't see climate change there. So, no need, even for people of the book, to not accept science.

So, if you want to interpret that verse to mean that the Climate Change we are in fact experiencing, is not happening, perhaps you are reading the verse wrong? Try this. All of those will continue, but they will be such that humans can't survive as before because they don't bring enough fruit from the earth anymore. While they continue, it'll be good for feeding small rodents and cockroaches, not human life.

Nothing in that verses says humans can't destroy their own environment so that it can't support themselves anymore, which is exactly what we are in fact doing. Think of it like emptying raw sewage into your drinking water. God doesn't promise to fix that problem for you that you created through stupidity.

I haven't heard anyone claim that climate change will cause any of those things to cease.

Using my "Bible" to look for climate change information is a lot like using my copies of "Scientific American" to look for theological information. ;)

    Are they really?

    Polar Bear Population

In other words, scientists who cling to a climate change narrative will ALWAYS call them threatened even if the facts don't match. Polar bear now populated in the billions and much of US from Maryland upward now frozen in tundras? Polar bears moving southward due to overcrowding? Polar bears must be fleeing the melting icecaps! We need to avoid harming the poor poor polar bears!

Global polar bear population larger than previous thought – almost 30,000
Latest global polar bear abundance ‘best guess’ estimate is 39,000 (26,000-58,000)

The Inconvenient Truth About Polar Bears

Yeah. It's like that. The numbers aren't in the billions, and thankfully Maryland isn't this cold. But if it were, this story would not change one iota.

There are cycles, and we are in a "hot" cycle right now, but it will start to cool down sooner or later. Hopefully it will be in time to save the polar bears. It is a fact that 99% of species that lived are now extinct, so maybe the time is up for polar bears.

I know there are places in the world where the harvest is not very good, but it's been that way from the very start. Spotty harvests are addressed in Genesis 3:17-19, but that in no way negates Genesis 8:22.

Take care and stay cool. :)

    Jeremiah 2:7
And I brought you into a plentiful land to enjoy its fruits and its good things. But when you came in, you defiled my land and made my heritage an abomination.

    Isaiah 24:4-6
The earth mourns and withers; the world languishes and withers; the highest people of the earth languish. The earth lies defiled under its inhabitants; for they have transgressed the laws, violated the statutes, broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore a curse devours the earth, and its inhabitants suffer for their guilt; therefore the inhabitants of the earth are scorched, and few men are left.

    Isaiah 51:6
    Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look at the earth beneath; for the heavens vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment, and they who dwell in it will die in like manner;

Good point. It sounds good except for the seeding and harvesting times, which means people will be around to plant and harvest.

We are in a hot cycle now, but if Genesis is true, it will cool down sooner of later. I think it will. I live in an area where for a while the average highs were going up by 2 or 3 degrees for several years. Everybody was wigging out. That was a while ago. If it had kept going up at that rate, I probably wouldn't be here writing this. As it is, the last 3 years it has begun a definite cooling trend. Last night, August 9 in SoCal, I slept with 2 blankets. Very unusual. Usually it's 0 blankets this time of the year, maybe a sheet by the time morning arrived, but definitely no blankets.

I really think Genesis is correct. You have to admit, it would be nice if it is. It's a better alternative to most of the science on the subject. Speaking of science; it is well understood that it is constantly refining its findings in most physical areas of study. That is in fact a hallmark of good science. That means it is understood that what we know now may not be the whole story. I think the whole story is in Genesis and it does not refine itself. It's already perfect and not subject to change. All in all, it seems to be a better anchor of life than science. Nothing wrong with science, it just does not have the final say on life. Have to keep those limits in mind.

    Take care.

Well actually, I might see an article on science and religion in Scientific American so that's not to me an exact analogy.

You may be missing a key ingredient to Gen 8:22, namely the first few words, "while the earth remaineth." This one will end, and that is what the verses you quoted are talking about. There is another verse that says the elements will melt.

    2 Pet 3:12,

Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
The word "melt" means to "liquefy." I don't thing global warming will cause the earth to literally melt down to a liquid. The complete destruction will occur when Jesus returns, but until then we can be confident in God's promise to Noah.

Tell that to the Bramble Cay melomys... Oh wait a moment, you can't, they are recognised as being extinct due to climate change

Maybe god is not concerned about the humble rat?

You focus on Genesis and ignore Revelation? Or indeed all the verses listed here? What Does the Bible Say About Global Warming? For example from Revelation:

And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
    ...
The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
    ...
And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.
    ...
21 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

But did the writers of the fantasy story in Gen 8:22 ask why the Great Barrier Reef is being bleached and dying from global warming and why the Antartic Peninsular and Greenland is greening?

Tell us more about cycles and how you learned about them. And tell us what factors have to be present for the start of a cooling period.

What I know is that many people are afraid of climate change. I also know it is not necessary to be afraid. That's all I'm saying.

I think it amazing that, from a simple short 3 paragraph post, you know what I know and what I don't know.
