Matthew 5:20+, the next step.Clearly not destiny as they failed.
Then are you now recognising their commandments as something that was to be given to you?

Matthew 5:20+, the next step.Clearly not destiny as they failed.

Christian here. Can't follow the Law of Moses least I be cursed if I fail to follow all of it, according to St. Paul and I don't believe that the Quran is a revelation from God, so I am not going to follow that either.I follow the Qur'an and the teachings of the prophet Muhammad.
But you didn't receive proof. It may be well enough for you.I asked a received rational answer, I am not a bicameral and capable understanding meaning not just follow orders. That is what wants us : to understand. 2"Then Ezra the priest brought the law before the assembly of men, women and all who could listen with understanding" , Nehemiah 8
How about the bible? Can you follow the bible?Christian here. Can't follow the Law of Moses least I be cursed if I fail to follow all of it, according to St. Paul and I don't believe that the Quran is a revelation from God, so I am not going to follow that either.
Sure, but this is about the bible....which are as irrelevent to me as are the Jewish traditions to you.
I surely did, just like in many more other cases. But you didn't receive proof. It may be well enough for you.
And it was Moses who set forth the Laws regarding circumcision. For a guy who is telling people that the Jews failed following the Laws of Moses, you seem awfully ignorant of the content of said Laws. Pot meet kettleIt was Abraham who first circumcised himself. Genesis 17:9-14
Do you follow the New Testament too?Sure, but this is about the bible.
Which really just means that what the Qur'an has to say is irrelevent. If you ask any Jewish person they will tell you that the Torah was given to the Children of Israel on Mt Sinai through Moshe. You can believe what you want but the orthodoxy of the religion disagrees with you and it's their book.Sure, but this is about the bible.
The reasons are not stated except vaguely. Besides, eating pork and shell fish are not going to kill anyone especially in that culture where meat is harder to come by. None of the Jewish restrictions add health benefits. For example meat with milk is not unhealthy. Wearing one kind of fiber isn't particularly comfortable.Prohibition in the Bible had reasons behind them, nothing mystical. God was concern about health of ignorant people eating pork or shell fish in hot climate.
That's for certain people for specific reasons and doesn't dismiss previous commandments.
Christian here. We only have like one or two rules we have to follow. How about the bible? Can you follow the bible?
Moses repeated the laws. It says right in your own book. And it was Moses who set forth the Laws regarding circumcision. For a guy who is telling people that the Jews failed following the Laws of Moses, you seem awfully ignorant of the content of said Laws. Pot meet kettle
Don't you believe in it? Can you still then say you believe in the same God as Abraham? Then God said to Abraham, “As for you, you must keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you for the generations to come. This is my covenant with you and your descendants after you, the covenant you are to keep: Every male among you shall be circumcised. You are to undergo circumcision, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and you. For the generations to come every male among you who is eight days old must be circumcised, including those born in your household or bought with money from a foreigner—those who are not your offspring. Whether born in your household or bought with your money, they must be circumcised. My covenant in your flesh is to be an everlasting covenant. Any uncircumcised male, who has not been circumcised in the flesh, will be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant.”
So you don't follow the bible.Christian here. We only have like one or two rules we have to follow.
I think it was because the Canaanite ate pork and shellfish since they lived closer to the coast and the Israelites wanted to separate themselves from the Canaanite culture.Besides, eating pork and shell fish are not going to kill anyone especially in that culture where meat is harder to come by.
I don't follow the words of people after knowing the words of God, no. But I do believe in the gospel.Do you follow the New Testament too?
What part of Abraham instituted it but Moses regulated it don't you understand?Moses repeated the laws. It says right in your own book.
Don't you believe in it? Can you still then say you believe in the same God as Abraham?
You believe in the Gospels? But I do believe in the gospel.
Then why did the Jews eat pork after all?I think it was because the Canaanite ate pork and shellfish since they lived closer to the coast and the Israelites wanted to separate themselves from the Canaanite culture.
No, I believe in the gospel. You believe in the Gospels?
