Seem's that even when a police officer has to shoot someone to protect another person's life the current Administartion has to condem it and blame the police.
'She was a child': White House addresses fatal police shooting of Ma'Khia Bryant | 10tv.com

Then we have a national news source (NBC) trying to cover up the actual reason the person was shot and killed.
Ohio police fatally shoot teen girl after call about knife attack

I would continue on but it appears that it is this Administration and the media than is the one that is fostering the idea that there is a systemic race problem in the country and especially within law enforcement.

It's why bodycams are so important now.

That's not off the rails at all. Biden is savvy (at times).
Blaming cops (even unjustly) is politically useful.
Making black assailants out to be innocent victims is politically useful.
Politics is seldom about facts. It's all feelings.
    To paraphrase Dirty Harry....

Anyone who doesn't realize that there is and long has been a race problem in this country, including with the criminal-justice system, is living a life of sheer delusion on this.

With that being said, I do believe it is likely that the officer in Columbus did the right thing, especially since he had to make a split-second decision. And I also believe that politicians, including Biden, should in most cases keep their mouth shut until the facts are made more clear and a verdict given. Mass shootings, otoh, are a different matter.

This post started off appearing to criticize the OP as deluded.
Then it expresses agreement with the OP.
Could it be that agreeing with Esmith is a distasteful situation?
I sympathize. @esmith is one strange dude.

Yeah... I viewed more than one video

it seems the officer arrived to a BAD situation in play
    he responded

    and a neighbor......video played
seemed to back the officer's response

What in the H are you talking about? I looked at that article, and I saw no "blame" being cast to anyone in this situation. Where is it in the article? The fact they said she was a child? The fact that disproportionate numbers of black people are victims of police shoots?

While those are both facts, I did not hear them concluding the officer committed a crime. I did not hear them skipping past investigations and going right to convictions. Are you rehearsing for a job with Faux News? :)

Biden's pandering was skillful. (Someone must've written
the script for him.) He spoke of the loss of life...black life.
He didn't mention the cop saving one black kid from being
knifed by another. Twas all sympathy for his base...nothing
for the cop who saved one kid.

The pendulum has swung from 'cops are always and automatically good guys/blue lives matter' which is off the rails wrong. In some cases it's gone past balance a bit to the other side.

It would be a wonderful world if people waited for the facts to unfold but we see that is not true for those on the 'blue lives matter'/cops are always the good guys side and on the cops are pigs side.

I agree, it is there to protect the officers just as much as hold them accountable. A double-edged sword, but in a time like this, it would be handy.

This is a perfect summary of the current escalations brought to us by the media.

This whole issue is more than a bit disgusting to me. If the officer paused and the girl was stabbed to death, and the video makes it rather clear that the intent was to kill, he would have been accused of standing by while a young black girl died. It was a no win situation for him, but considering the circumstances he did the right thing. The person attacking an unarmed person has lost the right to live in such a situation.

It's useful not only in protecting the perp but also the officer from unjustified accusations.

Perhaps we can agree police should incapacitate a person threatening to use a knife against somebody, the police should have applied non lethal force by using a tazer against the attacker who had a knife; this course of action should have been taken by the police officer in this case rather than the police officer having to apply lethal force by shooting to death somebody who did not have any firearm.

Tasers have a high failure rate and probably would not have worked in that situation.

So are you asserting there is no systematic racism problem in the USA? If so, do you really think these two references prove your point?

You very well may be correct regarding a taser's lack of reliability or lack of effectiveness in certain instances, nevertheless I would have liked the police officer to make an earnest attempt to deploy his taser's non lethal yet incapacitating jolt of electrical current through the body of the person armed with the knife. Then, I would have liked the police officer to have made a quick assessment regarding his taser's effectiveness of having neutralized the threat of a person stabbing somebody.. If the taser then were to have appeared being ineffective at incapacitating the attacker armed with a knife, then I would have liked the police officer to use his firearm as the weapon of last resort to prevent a person armed with a knife from inflicting more than a few stab wounds against the stabbing victim. Of course, there'd be an elevated risk of somebody getting a few stab wounds, but there'd be less chance of anybody getting shot to death.

There will always be some kind of prejudice, systemic racism, no. BLM, Media, Francine Waters and people like this are creating the problem, feeding this false narrative like a self fulfilling prophecy.

Police officers show up and you would think the people would actually stop fighting. The female keeps fighting and pulls a knife, looks like she is going for the head and neck area, looks like lethal force, the officer saved a life.

    That is correct.
And if you think so where is your proof?
And no I do not have to prove there isn't, you do.
