He's just the president, yes, but he is a symptom of a deeper problem.
I wanted to buoy the spirits of the poster who was saddened by him.

How can we be proud of the fact that 40% of Americans think Trump is a wonderful President. That shows most Republicans are so stupid they believed Trump when he said Mexico would pay for a wall. That shows most Republicans are so stupid they believe Trump has earned the respect of world leaders. That shows most Republicans don't give a damn about the environment. That shows most Republicans don't give a damn that Trump is a wannabe dictator
Yes, If Trump is reelected, evil will get worse. I would rather God protect our Country and our Constitution. After all, the Pledge of Allegiance still says ...and to the Republic for which it stands. It does not say ... to Chairman Trump. At least, not yet.

That is barring the most psychotic of one suffering Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) going to the extreme to end his term early.
God protect our President.
The President is not America. One can be proud to be an American while still questioning and/or rejecting whichever party happens to hold the White House.
I do notice that a lot of people's pride and patriotism in America seems more superficial than anything else. Kind of like fair-weather friends.
