Why is it Only those who "Walk with God" have Encountered Satan?

Everytime someone challanges you,
they are Satan.
(or else, they are just someone challanging you) lolol

That's not what I meant, please, don't twist my words. Let me explain what I think, if I was unclear.

Everyone someone challenges me or hurts me, they are themselves, doing it (purposely or otherwise) out of their own free will. God and Satan are above us. They only use these incidents to test us. They are tools for them. Not the people - their actions, the circumstances that arise from them.

And they both sit back and watch what I do with it. If I fail, I can always rise and try again - this is what God wants me to do. If I fail and give up, remain thinking about myself that I'm no good, not worth it, defeated - that's achieving Satan's goal. In the end, I lose my faith because of the common misconception that God should have sprung to my help. But, by remaining defeated, I denied Him the chance...

Does it make more sense now?

Awww honey, I'm sorry.
My post really wasn't directed at you.
Sometimes my posts are kind of just me thinking out loud to mySelf.
This was one of those posts.

Just to clarify, I see Satan as an "Avitar" of sorts,
he is "real" in that what he stands for/'embodies' (to me) is real,
and in terms of magick, I may even regard "him/her" as "real"...
but, unless our Avitars BE-COME sentient & autonomous by our own creation
in some other realm,
his 'person' is no more than persona,
though a very powerful persona at that.

There have been a bunch of demon possession threads up lately.
Probably that was in the back of my mind when I put up that last post.
Still the misunderstanding did get another informative post out of you,
so it's all good.

For the record, and to be clear, I do not think that either gOd or Satan are above me.
(or you or anyone)

Ah I see. An interesting notion, I'm not very familiar with it. So, in a way, God and Satan are, for you, just manifestations of ourselves? The good and the bad side of our psyche?

Friend MSizer,

For understanding sake Take this *god* you mention as *consciousness* which is LIGHT.
As Jesus had said *Be a light unto yourself*. Taking the individual light and the universal light walking together makes it just Light [no separation exists] now taking satan meaning darkness can you tell me if this LIGHT can ever meet or see darkness? No never. Darkness can see LIGHT and recoil but light can never encounter darkness.
This is the understanding.

gOd for me is the ALL of existence and potential existence.

gOd includes Satan, Me, You and everything else.
Every idea, every thing, every conception,
either existent or potential.
Satan is gOd, I am gOd, you are gOd, even this computer is gOd.

All things are divine.
(or no things are)

Why is it always those who "walk with god" who have some sort of personal experience with Satan? Why doesn't he ever present himself in any way to Atheists? If I'm on his team, why doesn't he ever show up to kick my *** for slacking off on my duty to persecute christians? Shouldn't your personal relationship with jesus protect you from Satan? I've been an atheist for over 15 years and I've never encountered even the slightest evidence for satan.

We create our own realities. Satan exists to people who believes he exists. When it comes to non-physical beings belief is really what creates them it seems. To the ancient Greeks their gods existed. They had an affect on their lives and realities. Not many people believe in them anymore so they don't affect our realities. Even if God and Satan don't "exist" they do in the consequences of their faithful's actions.

If you're not willing to engage in a little unnecessary relabeling, then how do you expect to ever encounter satan? Or god for that matter.

To accept the existence of Satan surely you must accept the existence of God, and if that were the case, wouldn't you be a Christian?

of course...
a rewording is in order :)

To accept the existence of Satan surely you must accept the existence of God.
Whilst you claim to be an Atheist MSizer, your post suggests differently and therefore I can only conclude that you either 1. need to reconsider your religious positioning or 2. you are merely playing Devil's advocate.

My friend,

I don't believe that only those who "Walk with God" experience Satan. I personally do not believe in such a being, but is Satan not supposed to symbolise all the evil and hurt in the world? Everyone encounters evil and hurt at some point in their lives. If not every day, then at least once a week.

For example, I am forever hearing on the radio of some plonker who has murdered some other poor person. Is this not evil? Another example, and I'm very sorry if this hurts anyone, would be the Dunblaine Massacre - where a man walked into a primary school and shot innocent schoolkids. Is this not evil?

Just because you're an Atheist, and do not believe in a physical being of Evil, does not mean that you've never encountered such a thing. Satan is merely a personification of the evil and hurt in the world, no?

Many blessings,

Matt :flower:

(If anyone feels that the example of Dunblaine is inappropriate, then please PM me and I'll remove it from my post.)

Then there would be no question of Universal Soveriegnty. There would be no way for people to choose who the best deity is to follow. Though not part of my belief system, this is the way that it was once explained to me.
