Why is it Only those who "Walk with God" have Encountered Satan?

Why is it always those who "walk with god" who have some sort of personal experience with Satan? Why doesn't he ever present himself in any way to Atheists? If I'm on his team, why doesn't he ever show up to kick my *** for slacking off on my duty to persecute christians? Shouldn't your personal relationship with jesus protect you from Satan? I've been an atheist for over 15 years and I've never encountered even the slightest evidence for satan.

Well even Athiestic Satanists have SOME kind of personal experience with/of "Satan". no?

Hmm, atheistic satanists? I don't know. Never encountered an atheistic satanist before.

Anyone here claim to be an atheistic satanist? How can that be? Is atheism not the position that no supernatural beings exist? Would this mean an atheistic satanist believes satan does exist, but in natural form?

Violet.
Most Satanists are Athiests.

Laveyen Satanism is primarily Athiestic.
(to the best of my understanding)

I relate more to Setianism,
so I can't say FOR SURE,
but this is certainly the impression I get.

Perhaps someone who knows more,
will confirm, or correct me.

We have had a few here. My understanding of the concept - which could be disastrously wrong - is that atheistic Satanists do not consider Satan a real being but a mythological role model. It's sort of like theological non-realism where one takes principles from mythology without actually accepting the stories as historical. Satanic principles might be like rejection of any higher power or authority than yourself and strong individualism as opposed to collectivism or non-duality.

I keep making fresh cake and setting an extra place at the dinner table for satan but the bugger never shows. Oh well, in order to show him my spite, I've been eating his his cake for 15 years.

Well, yaknow, if you lack the tendency to anthropomorphically personify broad views of cultural patterns, inner psychic conflicts & forces of nature through supernatural agency then you're going to miss out on all the Satany action. There is still the consolation of stuff you don't like or stuff you think you shouldn't like.

I'm fairly sure walking with God generally doesn't necessitate encountering Satan, or at least, in a singular grand form. My mother springs to mind: Devout Catholic, believer in God, doesn't believe in some big daddy Satan but does believe in naturalistic evil forces.

well you have to determine what satan is

as Wampus has mentioned, there is the pitch fork carrying satan...

and the self..satan is the tester, the advercary

when you give into greed, anger... you are walking with satan

I'd agree....

although I'd argue all forms of satanism have essentially the same focus
the self...

Hi. My introductory post here will explain that I'm new, looking for a place to jump into conversation. The OP's question intrigued me. I have my thoughts on the matter, but I need to know whether it was asked in sincerity, or with the intention of waiting for a Christian to answer, so that the Christian may be made fun of?

Because I am certainly open to dialogue and have no intention of hitting anyone over the head with a Bible. All I can ever do, after all, is state what I think. But I don't want to set myself up for one of those useless "convert me if you can, but you're wasting your time" endeavors. Pardon me if I seem a little "stung." I am just coming off of exactly one of those baiting conversations on another site.

The only reason why believers encounter satan because satan is trying to get everyone he possibly can to join him and leave god. He is not worried about non believers because they are already his unless they change their ways. Thats why u have to be careful because he comes to u in different ways. For example, he can come to you in a form of a candy bar-but u dont have any money. He can come to you in a form of a spouse that u may love dearly-but that spouse could be misleading you down the wrong path but your to blinded by love to see that. The most times he attacks people is wen they are depressd or angry because they are vulnerable and it is easier for him.... But really, all satan can do is put a though in your head or put something in front of you. Its up to u to follow that though and turn it into an action. It is your responsibility to control the outcome. Im a 16 year old christian, and it is not easy but i know it will be worth it....

The Christian explanation I was always given is that when you don't believe in Satan, when he comes to mess with you, you don't interpret it as Satan.
