    Some mistakes were made.

Not everybody. I'm an American that expatriated from America nearly ten years ago looking for a better life, and found it living on a mountain lake a mile up in the Sierra Nevadas in Mexico along with thousands of other expats. I live among much happier people now, enjoy much better climate (in the mountains, that is - sea level is too hot), and pay much lower prices. What does living in America have to offer people like us?

So you made money in America and then moved to Mexico because you could retire a lot cheaper? It's a smart move and I have been thinking about doing it myself.
