A man of RESPECT is clean-shaven.

If we were meant to be clean shaven, then why would we have to continually cut off our facial hair?

But I can see your point. Men who had no impact on the world other than to entertain us and make a living doing so should be among the most respected because they have the ability to rub cold steel blades on their faces.

yeah tell that to general grant, I read a good amount of his memoirs where he nearly dies quite often. Had his horse shot from under from several times in the civil war. All of those guys back then were made of different stuff than clean shaven 20th century tv stars

A beard doesn't make a man look wise or smart at all but like an old crackpot. A dirty old buzzard. A man looks as sharp as a razor if he keeps his face clean-shaven with one.
A beard makes a man look macho and brilliant. It gives him the aspect of a lion and the brilliance of a polymath, the old timers all knew this. Look at the photos of them, you will see their countenances are rugged and stoic. Fit to face the dust of the road, to take the elements, not afraid to get dirty doing maintenance work on a train. They knew life wasn't crisp and smooth, and they didn't strive to make it so. If you were to resurrect one of them from the dead, they'd be shocked at all the clean shaven conformity, and such a man would consider us as wasters of glory

In Rome women say : l'omo ha da puzzà...
Meaning: man has to be smelly and scruffy to be attractive to women...
