Regarding the Filtering of Profanity

For those who are not aware, profanity is automatically filtered by the site's software. However, sometimes the filter doesn't pick up certain words, or a person tries to thwart the filter by putting an asterisk over one letter. We are asking you not to do that, as it violates Rule 5:

5. Obscene Language and Adult/Violent Content
The public content areas of RF must maintain the equivalent of a PG 13-content rating. This means no profanity, sexually suggestive/explicit content (except in the Eros Room*), or violent/disturbing content. Automated filters catch most, but not all, profane language; members are responsible for ensuring their posts are profanity-free. Use of disturbing content may be acceptable if put in spoilers and it is relevant to the topic of discussion, but gratuitous content is never allowed and spoilered content is still subject to moderation.

All material on the site needs to adhere to a PG13 rating standard.

Please allow our filter to do its job by catching the entire profane word. If you know a word won't be caught by the filter and you find you must filter it yourself, please use an asterisk for every letter of the word.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation. If you have any questions regarding this topic, this thread (or Site Feedback) is the place to ask.

Edit: The call to censor profanity is one made by the site's sponsor, not by staff. Anyone's free to feel any way they want about it, but getting irritated at the staff over this is pointless. Its out of our hands.

While these contributions are appreciated, using this as a “test the filter” thread is ill-advised.

If you feel compelled to test the filter, feel free to do so in a new Site Feedback thread. This is the ‘Mirror Dimension of RF’ (for those that follow the MCU).

Can I just check then - is it ok to refer to someone as a complete ****** if they actually are a complete ******?
