Ooh, I get to be the only anarcho-socialist! What an honour!

Here's a graphic I did of my place on the political compass for my blog (I'm the blue headband):

Congratulations! We'll throw a party in your honor with food shoplifted from stores owned by multinational conglomerates.
What is "economically liberal"?

It's modern liberalism, which (in opposition to free-market neoconservatism or economic libertarianism) believes in some government redistribution as wealth. My apologies, I should have been more clear so as not to confuse it with "Classic" liberalism, which barely exists anymore.

I swing between two opinions at the moment.

The first consists of extreme economic and social libertarianism: allow the people to do as they will, and then regulate business into such a state that it can mete out no harm to the Earth's remaining wild places. Ergo, people have every right under the sun, while businesses are constrained.

My other opinion consists of extreme social Darwinism mingled with the law of the jungle. Fundamental rights? Says who? Any "fundamental rights" you might have are only as true as your ability to defend those rights. Lets the world loose from its societal tyranny and see what happens.

I don't know, perhaps I'm just a closet reactionary. Anyway, I usually ascribe to mild business regulation complete with total, Millian notions of freedom.

Despite differences of opinion, I find people with your viewpoints to be remarkably fun to hang out with for some reason.

My goal is a valid third party. I really don't care to much about what they stand for but we need to shake up the other two parties and hopfully rid ourselves of one. Their coruption runs to there core.

You asked.

I'd like to get a feel for what mix of political types we have here. Would y'all be so kind as to cooperate by voting in this poll? And even if you don't see an option you like, would you instead concisely describe your own political thinking?

Thanks much! :D

Hugs,
Izzy

Politically I would describe myself as perpetually cheesed off.

My political thinking is that I hate politics. I'm not a member of any party. I have views on topics that are used in politics, but politics in general, in my opinion, are a sham.

I'm sorry, I know that's not what you're looking for, but that's how I feel.

I'm the same way. I'm in the military and still don't care for it at all. ;)

If it means anything it was hard choosing between anarcho-socialism and "far left socialism." I only went with the latter because I think "libertarian" (socialist) is a better description for me. "Free market" can also mean anarcho-socialist; we just have a different view on what a truly free market is compared to Ayn Rand, Lew Rockwell, and Murray Rothbard.

Lawls at Ron Paul's face.

I voted "other"for...

"Completely Distrustful"

I'm with Mball on the "sham" thing.
Shell game maybe?

Some days though, it looks more like a "Big Top"
than a magic (illusion) show.

I really like that pic! :clap

I'm relatively near the center but in Ron Paul's quadrant.

I'm (Liberal, Left-Liberal, Modern Liberal or Progressive)... with (Left-leaning Libertarian) tendencies.

In the not so distant past I've voted for both Republican and Libertarian candidates. I pretty much side with social issues these days. I'm of the opinion that given the opportunity and the circus that is politics all parties, regardless, are the same.
