Oral Sex

Nowadays, oral sex is accepted as commonplace in relationships but that didn't use to be the case, and one has to ask themselves why. It's because society has become more evil. And the sad thing is, most people don't have the conscience to make a distinction between right and wrong. We all know the right way to have sex don't we? We know it. Who complains about having sex the right way? It's no point pretending that everything is up in the air and we don't have any sort of direction. If there's a right way to have sex, there must be a wrong way to have sex too and oral sex is a wrong way to have sex.
I agree that society has become more evil. That is because people want what they want and they do not care what God wants for them anymore. So regarding sex "anything goes" in modern day society, and if we speak out against that we are looked upon as some kind of freak, but that does not bother me because I know what God has revealed and that is what I will adhere to.

Following are some quotes from letters written by the Guardian of the Baha'i Faith.

"Amongst the many other evils afflicting society in this spiritual low water mark in history is the question of immorality, and over-emphasis of sex...
This indicates how the whole matter of sex and the problems related to it have assumed far too great an importance in the thinking of present-day society."
Lights of Guidance (second part): A Bahá'í Reference File, pp. 364-365

“The proper use of the sex instinct is the natural right of every individual, and it is precisely for this very purpose that the institution of marriage has been established. The Bahá'ís do not believe in the suppression of the sex impulse but in its regulation and control.”
Lights of Guidance (second part): A Bahá'í Reference File, pp. 364-365

The following is from Bahá'u'lláh's Book of Laws.

“The Bahá’í teachings on sexual morality centre on marriage and the family as the bedrock of the whole structure of human society and are designed to protect and strengthen that divine institution. Bahá’í law thus restricts permissible sexual intercourse to that between a man and the woman to whom he is married.” The Kitáb-i-Aqdas, p. 223

Either the Bible teaches works salvation or trust salvation. It does not teach both.
I believe that the Bible teaches both but I do not care about salvation, since I do not believe in original sin, so I do not believe there is anything to be saved from.

All I care about is doing the right thing. By having trust in God and doing good works one cannot miss out on eternal life.

Yes, there's exploration in the industry side of things, but that's true of all industries under capitalism so I see no reason to single out porn.
Absolutely. I would see nothing exploitative in couples filming themselves for their own gratification, it's when monetary interests enter the picture that the trouble usually starts.

Why should we have to struggle? God made us as we are.
You do not have to struggle against your animal nature unless you choose to. You can act like a mere animal. God gave you free will so you can choose to follow your animal nature or your spiritual nature.

God made us as spiritual beings, not as animals. That is who we are, according to my beliefs.
Oh. I see.

What a petty little god you revere. He needs his creations to love him. Sounds like Donald Trump.
I said: "only by being challenged can we really prove our love for God." I did not say that God needs our love. God has no needs. It is us who need to love God, for our own sake, not for God's sake.

Can you actually point to a specific period in time when the reverse was true?
I do not really know, but it probably started to go south when people started to become less religious.
e.g., 95% of people in the United States were Christian in the 1950s, but now that percentage is about 70%.

Okay, I'll try my own "scripture," based on that:

"The proper use of the nutrition instinct is the natural right of every individual, and it is precisely for this very purpose that the institutions of breakfast, lunch and dinner have been established. We do not believe in the suppression of eating, only in its regulation and control. Only eggs and toast first thing in the morning, and then avoid all food until noon or after, which ought to be a light meal eaten in a food court. Then at dinner, only the prescribed foods (NO PORK), which must be consumed before the third star appears in the night sky."

There, I've nailed it. Let's get this new religion going!

Only if you are looking through the wrong end of a telescope. Over my life I haven't seen such, and people in general are actually more caring towards others, often being more relaxed and tolerant of others with different lives than themselves. There will always be forces pulling and pushing us in various directions but evil is not one of them - that tends to more come from leadership, such as what you have as a president and in many other countries at the moment, these apparently murdering citizens because they think they can get away with it.

Evil was the wrong word to use, but I was responding to someone who used that word so I used it.
Decadent would be a more appropriate word to use, if we are talking about "anything goes" sexual behavior, which was what this thread was about.

You are right that over our lifetimes people have generally become more tolerant, less rigid, and more open-minded, and that is a good thing. Some things in society have also improved over time; for example women and minorities have more rights and people are speaking out against racism.

As a Baha'i, I do not even believe evil has existence in its own right, it is simply the absence of good. Baha'is do not believe there is a being called Satan directing traffic in earth, we consider that mere superstition. To Baha'is, Satan means the lower selfish nature of man, kind do like what you see in certain politicians. ;)

Fair enough, but I don't see much decadence either, which has always existed if one looked for it. I'm not sure about changes in any particular direction, other than short phases where we appear to have love-affairs with the various new technologies we create and the associated problems with such. I've never seen pornography as an overall benefit, and I think it does come with enough problems such that perhaps this has influenced sexual behaviour enough to have had some harmful effects. Not sure oral sex is one though. I've tried to keep out of this thread.

I very much doubt it - just don't want to get into any trouble.
Getting into trouble is what I do best, although I have learned to do less and less of it lately because quite frankly I do not like to argue..... Nevertheless, if Is see something that warrants a response I have to say what I have to say...... :D

Here is a paradox that should trouble the parent of any teenagers. Back in 2000 there was a study done that showed that whilst the number of teens that say they are sexually abstinent is on the rise, so is the number that have had oral sex. Many teens don’t believe oral sex counts as sex and this problem has been growing below the radar of many sex educators and clueless parents. I am going to refer to some studies done in 2000 as this is what I have access to. The study showed that since 1988, the number of boys aged between 15 – 19 who have received oral sex from a female had risen from 13% to 49.5% in the U.S. That means that even back in the year 2000, half of the country had already engaged in oral sex.

It is a mystery to me that adults have no problems giving good advice about the dangers of drugs and alcohol, but for some reason struggle to give advice to the rising generation about sex. In particular, advocates of so called comprehensive sexual education are giving mixed messages with deadly results. Whilst they theoretically advocate abstinence, they also push for widespread distribution of contraceptive devices under the assumption that kids will be sexually active and therefore need protection.

I have never engaged in and never will engage in oral sex. It is perverted sex. I know the right way and wrong way to have sex from the Law and the Word from passages such as Romans 1. And I shouldn’t have to say anything, but I feel here on RF we’re missing some core issues that need to be addressed in today’s society. If you have engaged in this or thinking about doing so you need to ask yourself why. I can’t answer that for you. Perhaps you are watching something you have no business watching, perhaps you’re involved in pornography or perhaps it’s people that you are listening to that are leading you on. Whatever the case, Yahshua’s message is the same: repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand.

It’s disgusting. And for people who are seeking a holy way of life (Leviticus 19:2), this sort of sex shouldn’t even be named among those who call themselves believers. In the Kingdom of Yahweh that is coming, all such acts will be outlawed. Relationships will flourish and the husband and the wife will have true love for one another and respect each other.

I know many people have no problem with pride marches and demonstrations. Homosexuals will try to tell you that any form of sex is good sex. No it isn’t. Satan has his system and oral sex is part of his domain, not Yahweh’s domain. I still regard myself as a young person, but I have to say, the older that I get the more I see that Yahweh’s Laws are for our psychological wellbeing. They stop us from making major mistakes in life if we obey all of them. Not in the sense that following the Word doesn’t have problems - it does. Persecution is one of them. But we have the strength that comes from prayer and encouraging words from the Word to help us deal with those things. Troubling psychological fallout from giving oral sex can make girls feel exploited and they do it to be popular or make boys happy. Girls may become bitter against boys or choose not to date them and some may choose to date those of the same gender instead.

I can’t change the world but my hope and prayer is that Yahweh’s Kingdom would come soon so that people would learn what true love really means and enjoy the happiness and peace that comes from keeping the Law.

Whether you find oral sex disgusting or not is not relevant to others. It is unfortunate that you find a part of your partner's body to be disgusting. But that is for you and your partner to deal with.

Why do you quote the Old Testament? Do you follow all of it, or only the parts you like?

Wow, apparently you don't even understand straight forward Biblical passages. :eek:o_O

I've given hundreds of sermons and taught the Bible to many.

I understand that if you think "faith plus works is straightforward", that contradicts clear verses that specifically say faith does not include works and that the GIFT of salvation is utterly separate from works.

All I care about is doing the right thing. By having trust in God and doing good works one cannot miss out on eternal life.

Salvation has nothing to do with original sin. I don't believe in the Roman/Augustinian notion of original sin, either.

Doing the right thing is trusting in Jesus, not in self, and anyone trusting their works to save them is, biblically speaking, foolish.
