I appreciate the humor....but it doesn't wash away the look in my daughters' eyes.
sit down with her and tell her that you're sorry and that you didn't think much of it? and then be a real goofy, obvious santa this christmas haha
She's almost 21, now. So too late for that.
I too remember how deceived I felt when I found out Santa was a ruse, almost a half-century ago.
It did take me until I was about 47 to figure out what I believed. She's smarter than her old man, though. She'll figure it out.... no thanks to me.
Consider the irony.
oops
but think of it this way, whatever she'll believe, it will be hers. that's gotta count for something.
A TOOL of Satan, is what I said.Santa, like many other "Christmas" traditions originated with Paganism. The message of Christ came much later. So no, Santa is not Satan, regardless of the closeness of names.
The irony is that you consider the idea of Santa to be logic defying magic, but not the idea of Christ.
Santa is a not real, but I do not believe Satan is real either.
If you hold a blankie over your head, the Boogyman isn't real, either....

The boogeyman isn't real, whether I want to accept that or not
You screwed up, so accept it and be a good parent. Every parent screws up. Her eventual belief or non-belief is going to be up to her, so live by what you believe and be a good parent.I appreciate the humor....but it doesn't wash away the look in my daughters' eyes.
Look, more irony.
