Hey there! I'm Sigurd. :)

Been born and raised as Christian. Over the past few years, I've come to terms with my faith and have found that Christianity left more questions than I've seen varifiable answers, so I became agnostic for a while. Looked into other faiths past and present and how they relate to life now, but no religious path really seems compelling or convincing to me at this point. That said, I do enjoy discussing religion and the beliefs of others, and I like being challenged with view points I may not understand or even like.

As for my own current beliefs, I would say technically that I am an agnostic atheist. I would like to think of myself as open minded, so my beliefs are subject to change if something better comes along while still satisfying my skeptical mindset. I value intellectual honesty and repeatable accuracy over "truth," as the concept of truth is skewed by personal perception and bias. Reducing our understanding of the world and our existence to a final statement should best be avoided, I feel.

Anyways; been lurking in the shadows for a while now, so I think I'll step into the light for a bit and engage in the discussions at hand. Hope to see you folks around!

Hi, I'm AT-AT. I'm a 30 year old dude who thinks he found truth and merit in the theology of Baha'is. That being said, I also identify as a progressivist, and find my beliefs more progressive than the established beliefs of this faith, "to an extent". My social skills also aren't fantastic, believe it or not I was skipped grades due to being labelled "advanced" and I later suffered some health problems which have set me back further. But I have been on this forum over 6 months, and I'm still kicking thus far.

There are 2 kinds of beliefs....
1) Right (mine)
2) Wrong (disagreeing with me)

Hey there! I'm Sigurd.

En Garde!

Been born and raised as Christian.

What?! No stories of being abused and mistreated as a child in a "Christian" home? How unusual and atypical.

That said, I do enjoy discussing religion and the beliefs of others,...

You may now, but a couple of go-'rounds on the bumper-car floor in RF should take the polish off of your "enjoyment", rat quick, I daresay.

..and I like being challenged with view points I may not understand or even like.

Do you prefer pistols, swords, or bare-knuckles?

so I think I'll step into the light for a bit and engage in the discussions at hand. Hope to see you folks around!

OKAY, GUYS! Git 'im!!!

I think that is for people who work really hard...physically.

Nah, its a typical full english breakfast, the mainstay of hotel and street cafe breakfasts throughout the UK. Although Scotland will replace the fried black pudding with fried haggis.

When i lived in the UK we had it for sunday breakfast. Now in france we are stuck with pastries ;-)

Nice to meet yah! I'm not super familiar with Bahaism. I'm glad you've found a path that works for you, though. If you don't mind my asking, what made you decide on Bahaism? Also, do you find that your progressive views differ at times from the teachings of your faith? Thanks!

Hmm... You forget the third option. Shrugging and stuffing cakes into my pockets before sauntering off. :D

It does seem like folks are extra bothered about things lately. Can't say I blame them, though there isn't really much to be gained by shaking one's fist at the screen or at the sky. As for my weapon of choice, why not a knuckle sword with guns on it?

You know, I've never had a proper english breakfast before, and that looks really, really damn good; especially after I dated a vegetarian for 4 years. Then again, I'm not sure I could stomach that. Anytime I've tried eating heavy meat since then my body's rejected it.
