But if there was question about his intent, that was clearly answered later when he was confronted by a reporter, and Trump doubled down on what he had said, and it's abundantly clear he was not joking. And even though you love to portray this as a lefty thingy, some Republicans, such as Republican spokeswoman Nicole Wallace and former representative Joe Scarborough (R-Florida), said that Trump absolutely was not joking.
Whoa!!!!!
I was addressing your comment that the Obama's comment about leaving the EU was an opinion. Whereas his comment was not an "opinion"...How can you say that the comment by him that Britain would go to the "back of the queue" for trade deals with the US if it votes to leave the European Union. nothing more than an opinion? Well, I guess you can if you never find anything wrong with the Obama.

Then to make matters worse you disregard the issue and go back to Trump....Typical response from you and others on this forum....."whoops I made a mistake, I'll just change the subject".

This isn't really any evidence.
Many establishment Pubs like Scarborough oppose the outsider Trump.
What Hilda fans don't address is the utter absurdity of Russian hackers
finding the emails that our own government (with possession of the
computers) could not find. Of course, if you assume she had computers
hidden from the FBI, then this raises a completely different issue.

By my own hacking into the DNC computers, I've discovered the code
name for their anti-Trump campaign......

Apparently you simply don't know the difference between the words "interfere" versus "opinion", so I can help you out with this:

interfere: to come into opposition, as one thing with another, especially with the effect of hampering action or procedure (often followed by with) -- http://www.dictionary.com/browse/interfere?s=t

opinion: a belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty. -- http://www.dictionary.com/browse/opinion

Anyhow, it's obvious that you prefer your politics in "the bubble" of delusion. On top of that, you lied about my supposed unconditional support for Obama. I have criticized his policies at times (his heavy use of drones, the TPP, his drawing the "red line" against Assad, etc.), so you just can't help but telling one lie after another. How utterly pathetic the low levels that you are all to willing to resort to. I've had more than enough of your stereotyping of people and groups along with your pathetically dishonest remarks.

I feel your pain, Metis.

That said, many folks in the UK did feel that Obama giving his opinion, considering the timing and his ominous none too subtle threats, was interference. There is nothing that says giving ones opinion cannot be construed as interference.

No doubt it can be, but where the difference in this case lies is that Trump was promoting an illegal action (hacking e-mails and publicly displaying them) versus giving an opinion as to what could happen to, not only the UK's economy, but other economies as well. Even though "the pond" separates us, it's not wide enough to not affect us and many other countries economically. After all, we are in a global economy. When we took an economic noser in 2008-9, it didn't just affect us.

If the Rooskies did that, then the government & Hillary would both get what they ostensibly want.
It sounds win win to me.
Alas, no good deed goes unpunished.

I do agree that the two are not really comparable, but I still am inclined to giggle at the hysteria Trump's comments have stirred up. He is certainly a master of button pushing.

You may be giggling, but this guy is already doing damage to this country by his bigoted statements and demeaning attitude towards anyone who dares disagree with him on pretty much anything and everything. We've never seen a situation before in all of American history whereas so many members on a nominee's own party, including two former presidents and two who ran as Republican for president but were unsuccessful refused to even show up at the convention. And I forget how many Republican members of Congress refused to attend as well.

Now he also is talking about possibly disbanding NATO, which fits right into Putin's hands, talks about carpet bombing ISIS-controlled areas, and also says he will not discount using nukes against them. Now, I don't for one minute think that's funny.

God, you're going to be a nervous wreck come election day, at this rate, especially if the polls are close. Don't worry though, there's still plenty of real estate up here in Canada. I'll put some extra bagels out. :)

It's a 20 minute drive from our place in the L.P., and we actually almost moved there around 1970. Heck, I probably spend more time there than you do! ;)

When the 'vast right wing conspiracy' just isn't working for you, pull out the 'vast Russian conspiracy' as your, how you say, trump card.

What makes me laugh is that given these points you have just made, makes Trump Russian joke even funnier. If there's nothing there what difference, at this point in time, does it make?
Whether it contains classified info or not, it's probably not a good idea to allow Putin to possess 30,000 emails of a presidential candidate (it could be used for blackmail, etc.) In any case, what matters is that Trump thinks it would make a difference, and that would be fine with him as long as it helps him destroy a rival.

Some Sanders supporters will vote third party -- or not vote at all -- because of this and other things that were done to Sanders. But I think most realize that a Trump presidency would be catastrophic for the nation and the world, and will vote for Clinton despite their distaste for her.
I mean I hope not Personally. Most of who I know and have talked too (which is highly specific to my group rather than the at large) seems to lean towards Jill Stien.

Holding your nose and voting for HIllary instead of sticking with your guns, especially after its been shown that she stole the election by cheating, shows that democracy is a sham. You are a sheep. **** your freedom. **** your progressive movmenets and get back in line. I think that in and of itself is more harmful than anything Trump will actually be able to do. I don't want Trump to win. I really really really really don't. But I'll be damned if I vote for Hilary.

Also think about it this way. If Hillary wins in 4 years it will be Hillary vs The zodiak killler or discount Mitt Romney. Another loose-loose situation. But if Trump did win in 4 years it will be Trump vs a liberal who isn't Hillary. Or best case scenario a 3rd party wins for the first time in the past 100 years.

Gotta love the hyperbole. We have a few emails that show that some people were planning on doing something against Bernie. No evidence that they actually did it. No evidence that she stole the election.

Don't get me wrong. Having the DNC even contemplating such a thing is despicable. And everyone should be outraged by it. It shows that there needs to be a serious overhaul of the primary process. But still Hillary won the primary, she did not steal it.

Oh, boy. Just when Hill Hill thought her email troubles were behind her, here comes WikiLeaks to show how the DNC was working things in the background all the while.

I'm thinking this is very awkward for the DNC, Hill Hill and Democrat voters. A great way to prep for the convention.

Ouch.

Why thank you for that deeply insightful appraisal. I hadn't realized, all these years, that that was the only difference. Again, thank you.
