Why would God want anything from us? Surely God being omni-everything, as many suggest, would know what to expect from His creation. And I think we have to factor in the timescale for all this to happen - and the various stages that human existence has evolved through alone - so as to question this very high intellect. Could God not have done all this much quicker and without so much waste?

Right, no guarantees of life. Which explains why a mother of three will develop breast cancer and die. No unconditional love by God. Just the lottery of life as if no gods exist.
I don't think this god would "want" anything from me. I doubt this god would "want" in any sense that resembles how humans understand that term. That's the case even with many of the gods I worship much less the Abrahamic god who is a highly abstracted and numinous sort of god-concept.
Theists speculate too. It’s not as if they any gods exist, even if they are so bold as to claim such a thing.

Well we also have to consider reality, like diseases, mental health problems, genetic defects, and so on. God causes all that yoo. Why? Sociopath?

God would want to meet loveable people that try to find a way of living that is sustainable and enjoyable. If there's a God that entity hasn't mastered creation by a longshot. God would be a student of the reality that he/she it is bound by.

Well this doesn't work to get God off the hook since God created Satan. So no matter what God knew what he was doing, and is accountable for all he does.

Sounds like a pipe dream, and there is no clear meaning to any of this. It was likely a way for the religious authority to motivate the masses to work harder because they will have it easier eventually.
