Who Is Really Running The Country?

As soon as Trump goes away from politics, or goes away to prison, then we won;'t have Trump as a virus affecting conservative voters.

You do know he wants to run for president again, yes? That makes him very much relevant to how we think about politics. But I understands you conservatives want to avoid the embarrassment of Trump, but we remember how he made mistake after mistake, and pretended he meant what he said. Be sure to drink your clorox so you don't get Covid.
But we should look at today with its mistakes day after day, pray and write to those who represent us in the Congress.

Because this isn't about a genuine concern, it is just basic deflection tactics by embarrassed conservatives. It's bad faith politics.
I don't think they're embarrassed. If that was the case "grab them by the *****" would have started it instead of being backtracked by his followers who rushed to defend that it's "just locker room talk" and not sexual assault.

No, we need to collectively remember it is We the People who run the show and be more responsible about that.

I don't know, I think they know their president is a disgusting person, and a conman, but they have already committed to him and don't want to admit they made a huge error of judgment. That is what pride does to an insecure mind.

And now 66% believe Trump won re-election and was cheated, even though there is no evidence. The conman is good.

Mistakes come with any government agency, and you know this. It is what they actual do to manage our affairs to the best compromise that counts. Right now Biden is doing a good job at helping the average American cope with the fallout of the pandemic and the rising prices of the free market. I know many want to blame Biden for inflation but it has more to do with the free market and not federal policy. The Fed is trying to mitigate inflation but the economic cycles that we know occur historically seem to be happening.

You are a conservative. You probably consume conservative media. So if that's the case you are going to get the doom and gloom scenario about Biden, and then your views will reflect on your posts here. What this tells us is not that Biden is so bad, but that conservatives are heavily influenced by right wing media. Biden isn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but he had to rebuild the federal government since so many people resigned. But he is vastly more stable and credible than his political opponent and is getting us back to work.

You do accept that Biden won the 2020 election, yes?

Yes, he won.
Rebuilding the Government... into what? What has he rebuilt in two years? Stable? Credible? More and more of his own party don't agree.

Good for you. You are rare among conservatives.

Rebuilding the Government... into what?
Into a functional government that does its job. Trump's corruption meant many federal employees resigned. Others were forced out. These folks weren't replaced.

I understand conservatives want smaller government but until there are alternatives in place the jobs these people have serve a purpose and function. Biden had to rebuild these vacancies.

He got Americans vaccinated. He led an effort to take the pandemic seriously and helped get schools reopened, and businesses back to work. The economy grew faster than in any time in history. Unemployment is a near record low. Wages are going higher. He helped Congress pass an infrastructure investment plan, that got bipartisan support. And many republicans who voted against it took credit for the investments in their districts. How funny is that? Now as a result of the war in Ukraine, and other economic factors, including corporate greed, inflation is hitting the USA and the world. There is only so much government can do, but Biden is experienced and has actual experts advising on how to mitigate the effects.

What do you want to see the Biden administration do?

I think they actually believe these things.

It took me awhile, but as time progress, it becomes especially all too clear as to who pulls the strings in this country.

I guess what broke the camels back for me was the "too big to fail" and "corporations as people" mantra of modern day politics that sealed the deal the US is no longer a democracy but an oligarchy disguised as a democratic republic.
