That depends: does he believe in some other god who isn't Jesus (God the Father, the Holy Spirit, etc.)?So is a practicing christian, who doesn't believe Jesus is God an atheist?

Ditto.
Doesn't really answer the question.what about a person who thinks that a human is the epitome and the highest form of intelligence? that is someone besides Jesus. Jesus didn't equate himself with the Holy Spirit because blasphemy against the Holy Spirit wasn't forgivable by the Son, or the Father by the blasphemer. Thus the three must agree.
Not true. The Trinity's a bit more complicated than that:Keep in mind that a typical christian generally equates Jesus with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
what is she/he then? buddhism can be considered an atheistic belief system.

Doesn't really answer the question.
If this person doesn't consider any of the things he believes in to be gods, then he's an atheist.
Not true. The Trinity's a bit more complicated than that:
nope, it's simply a mind, body, and action for some.
your's is one interpretation
Let's not overthink this.
Atheism: there is no God(s).
No, you don't have to believe Jesus is God to be a Christian, you only need to understand the stories of Jesus and what they point to.
So is a practicing christian, who doesn't believe Jesus is God an atheist?
A practicing christian who does not believe in a creator/deity is an atheist by strict definition. If that christian believes in a creator, whether or not jesus is god, that christian isn't an atheist.
I don't believe in a God apart from self. God is omnipresent. thou shall not worship any other God because there is none apart from self.
Everything came from the same big bang
66 Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest? 2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the Lord: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
So is a practicing christian, who doesn't believe Jesus is God an atheist?
Someone can ostensibly fulfill the rites and practises of Christianity and be an atheist. They can't BE a Christian and be an atheist, it's contradictory.
I would disagree. I personally like the teaching of Jesus and will promote them in a conversation. The only thing I do differently is add an O to God. Whenever God is referred to in the teachings I make it read Good. It actually works quite well for me. I will admit I'm agnostic but I've been on the RF long enough to see atheists promote spirituality. I see no problem in promoting Christianity without the God.
I'm not much familiar with Any one like that , i have seen what I would call cultural Christians. To answer your question though, yes they could be labeled atheist. So is a practicing christian, who doesn't believe Jesus is God an atheist?
Let us not falsely over simplify it either....Let's not overthink this.
