it may be interesting to confront these two different doctrines that christianity and islam suggest when their members find themselves in a danger situation.
Taqiya is a form of Islamic dissimulation or a legal dispensation whereby a believing individual can deny his faith or commit otherwise illegal or blasphemous acts while they are in fear or at risk of significant persecution.
martirdom in christianity is the will of a believer to go as...
After Trump made a bombastic statement of not liking having to ask for forgiveness
and since he's Presbyterian (to my understanding, Presbyterians believe everyone is already saved by what Jesus has done, you can correct me if I'm wrong).
my question is, do Presbyterians in general ask for forgiveness or do they not feel the need, since their sins are all forgiven, past present and future?
I wonder if Trump's statement came partially from his religious beliefs.
Well-known Professor Amel Grami points out that early Islamic sources accepted homosexuals as part of a pluralistic tradition that has disappeared from modern Islamist thought.

Why do you deify...
To the religious, why do you deify the object/s and/or people/s of your religion? (If you're the exception, why do...
Many evangelical Christians preach just that. “Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior or spend eternity in the fires of Hell.” From what I have been told about Hell, it’s a lot like spending time with my ex. Each moment seemed like eternal agony. I sure don’t want that, I already had a taste of Hell. I’m sold, where do I sign up? Many people learn about Jesus when the Gospel is preached to them. How do I know this preacher, minister, pastor or priest or whoever is preaching the right...
In describing Lot, Wikipedia says "Christians revere Lot as a righteous man of God."
Project Gutenberg says, "Despite Lot's flaws, Christians view him as a righteous man."
However, after reading the story of his stay in Sodom I can't figure out why. Particularly because of what he does to his daughters.
GENESIS 19: 1-11
That evening the two angels came to the city of Sodom. Lot was sitting near the city gates and saw them. He got up and went to them. He bowed to...
We know the word is used in Christian scripture . . . what about in Muslim and Judaic scripture?
