Will Our Species Survive Another 150,000 Years?

Manchester C.3 - 2Tottenham H.:soccer:

You're lucky I don't know where you live sweetheart ;)

Good luck to $Citeh$ playing Pool with no Lescott or Balotelli after they decided to bash our players :D Sweet stuff all that does for us though, I feel so robbed even though the penalty was stone wall.

I feel with you.
I am old enough to remember Osvaldo Ardiles and Tottenham was always “my English team”! Do you think Balotelli was aware of his decapitation attempt?

Clearly. To regain his balance he had only to stand down rather than stand backwards onto Parker. Its very obvious (spurs bias aside) to see him aim for the player.

My short answer is that yes, mankind's future is grand, though not without some terrible trials and tribulations on the way, but rather than being seen as setbacks, they actually are an essential part of the evolutionary process to bring about a more Cosmically mature species.

For those who are interested, read on for the long answer.

Humans within this century will be living on Moon bases, Space Habitats at the Lagrange points between Earth and the Moon, on Phobes (Moon of Mars) and on the surface of Mars. Also by the end of this century, there will be unmanned Interstellar probes to other Star systems.

So with the diversity of inhabited locations in this Solar system alone, mankind is sure to survive and the future will see them spread throughout the Galaxy.

I must admit to have the advantage of an actual document called the Integrated Space Plan (ISP) drawn up by the United Space Alliance (Boeing, Lockheed, etc..) on the request of the then President George Bush Snr.. and managed by Rockwell (company that built the Space Shuttle).

While this plan is no longer the official policy (President Clinton changed that), I follow the progress of space missions of all nations and it is pretty much unfolding as laid out in the plan, though not on the same time frame (it's a few years behind the schedule of the ISP, but now there are multiple nations Russia, China, Japan, India, and Europe involved with many parallel plans involving manned missions to the moon and mars with the view for the establishment of permanent human presence.

The ISP envisioned human babies being born on all of these extra-terrestrial settlements within this century and the concept of terrestrial mankind will give way to a Solar species of mankind. Humans who are born and raised on the low gravity habitats like Space Stations, Moon, etc.,will never be able to visit Earth as their bodies will have adapted to zero or low gravity environments.

Thats it right there if Einsteins any good as a prophet.

In an interview with Alfred Werner (published in Liberal Judaism in 1949), Einstein said: "I do not know how the Third World War will be fought, but I can tell you what they will use in the Fourth -- rocks!"

What are the problems or challenges that might prevent our species from surviving another 150,000 years?

What might help our species survive another 150,000 years?

Do you think our species has a good chance of surviving another 150,000 years? Why or why not?

According to Jain prediction, out civilization will continue to deteriorate in morals and intelligence and will be over in some 24,000 years after which a new civilization will start which will keep on improving in morals and intelligence.

Baring the odd asteriod strike I would say our biggest concern would be environmental.

What might help our species survive another 150,000 years?

Moving into space. Once humanity has colonised other planets the chances of losing the entire species to something like an asteroid strike will be nil. Of course this could doom many other species that we may come in contact with, considering our past record.

Do you think our species has a good chance of surviving another 150,000 years? Why or why not?

Sure. Life has a way of surviving. The only thing that could eliminate us would be a full extinction event where a very large percentage of life on the planet was lost.

Human beings are probably the most adaptable large species to ever have existed on this planet due to our ability to shape our environment. This being the case, unless there is some type of unavoidable, massive extinction level event, there will most likely be humans around, in some form, 150K years from now. I think it is far more likely for these humans to be living in a less technological state than we are living in now however, as our species will most likely hit some type of massive die-off and cultural/technological regression - and once that happens, it may be unlikely that we would have the requisite natural resources to start over again and achieve the population required to reach a high level of technological sophistication.

The intelligence of this planet is skyrocketing. 24,000 years from now, I doubt any humans will understand anything about what is happening.

If there are any descendants of ours still living 150 000 years from now they will likely be so different from us that they will have to be considered a different species.

“According to some premillennial Christian interpretations, the Messiah will return to earth and defeat the Antichrist (the "beast"), Satan the Devil, in the battle of Armageddon. Then Satan will be put into the "bottomless pit" or abyss for 1,000 years, known as the Millennial Age. After being released from the abyss, Satan will gather Gog and Magog (peoples of two specific nations) from the four corners of the earth. They will encamp surrounding the "holy ones" and the "beloved city" (this refers to Jerusalem). Fire will come down from God, out of heaven and devour Gog and Magog after the Millennium. The Devil, death, hell, and those not found written in the 'book of life' are then thrown into Gehenna (the Lake of Fire burning with brimstone).”

When is all this going to happen?

our view is that Christs kingdom will become established invisibly in heaven. When it does Satan is cast out of heaven and brings much woe to the inhabitants of earth. ( we believe this has already happened )

For a short time he will mislead all the nations...this time period is called the 'last days' ( we believe we are living in the last days right now)
Then the tribulation will begin. God of Magog is Satan himself and he leads the nations into a war against God. When God sees his people are being attacked, he steps in with the war to end all wars...Armageddon.

After armageddon, those left remaining will enjoy life in peace during the 1,000 year millenial reign of Christ. During this time, millions will be resurrected back to life and they will be given the opportunity to live as subjects of Gods rulership.

At the end of the thousand years, Satan will be let loose from his prison and he will try once more the lead all the people against God. Any who choose to rebel at that time will be put out of existence for all eternity...this is 2nd death from which there is no return. Then Satan will also experience 2nd death along with death & hell themselves are also put into the lake of fire which means complete destruction...they will never exist again.

From here on in it is everlasting life in a perfect world under the guidance of God with a perfect human race taking care of the earth.

I think our species will last for sometime to come. That said, no thing is permanent, including our species.

Do your prophetic insights influence your everyday decision making?
Does God speak to you just as he did when he told George Bush to invade Iraq?

You are in good company, Ronald Reagan too seem to have considered Armageddon while in office. http://www.rumormillnews.com/ARMAGEDDON%20THEOLOGY.htm

Do you think JC will come back within 150000 years or after?

"When it does Satan is cast out of heaven and brings much woe to the inhabitants of earth. ( we believe this has already happened )

You do?

Doesn't Satan have to be born and die again and be resurrected and "mislead all the nations?"

Wouldn't satan be a supernatural being? Who might that be?

" 'last days' ( we believe we are living in the last days right now)"

So did the early Christians.

were to occur between 30 & 1920

, but didn't.

Failed prophecies:

topbul1d.gif
About 30 CE: The Christian Scriptures (New Testament), when interpreted literally, appear to record many predictions by Yeshua of Nazareth (Jesus Christ) that God's Kingdom would arrive within a very short period, or was actually in the process of arriving. For example, Jesus is recorded as saying in Matthew 16:28: "...there shall be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom." In Matthew 24:34, Yeshua is recorded as saying: "...This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled." Since the life expectancy in those days was little over 30 years, Jesus appears to have predicted his second coming sometime during the 1st century CE. It didn't happen.

[FONT=trebuchet ms,arial, helvetica]Almost all of the groups in the very early Christian movement anticipated the imminent appearance of the Kingdom of God, the arrival of the Son of Man in power, and angels taking the elect -- the true believers -- up into Heaven. "What are the problems or challenges that might prevent our species from surviving another 150,000 years?"

There are a lot of them. Meteors, volcanoes, other space issues, like gamma rays bursts, viruses, nuclear war and more.

"What might help our species survive another 150,000 years?

There are a lot of them, but hard to tell, because of differnt threats.

"Do you think our species has a good chance of surviving another 150,000 years? Why or why not?"

That is a long time and were lucky to make it one day at a time really. One can only hope. The odds would be better also if we get off the planet and start to colonize space.

not necessarilly bud.

many human like species made it a million years without evolutionary changes.

If we get into space, then absolutely all bets are off.

all depends on enviromental and dietary factors
