For the past several years, White Kitty would stop by the house to give us severed
chipmunk heads, mousie guts, & rabbit feet. In return, I set out food & water (which
she graciously shared with possums, Black Skkunk, White Skunk & the racoons).
Sometimes, in her infinite magnanimity, would allow me to brush her fur.
But this morning we discovered her in front of our compound in the middle of the
road...skull & body crushed...intestine snaking down the road. At least she died
instantly...no suffering. So I scooped her up, set her in a snow bank (no room in
the fridge), & will bury her later today.
RIP, White KItty.
RIP.
So sad, RIP white kitty.
Edit. As the designated village cat lady feeding and caring for between 4 and 7 "chats errants" i know how attached you can get to these furry visitors.
