White Kitty Died Last Nite

For the past several years, White Kitty would stop by the house to give us severed
chipmunk heads, mousie guts, & rabbit feet. In return, I set out food & water (which
she graciously shared with possums, Black Skkunk, White Skunk & the racoons).
Sometimes, in her infinite magnanimity, would allow me to brush her fur.
But this morning we discovered her in front of our compound in the middle of the
road...skull & body crushed...intestine snaking down the road. At least she died
instantly...no suffering. So I scooped her up, set her in a snow bank (no room in
the fridge), & will bury her later today.
RIP, White KItty.
RIP.

I don't think Orange Kitty or Black Kitty will replace her.
They're much more skittish, running at the sight of anyone.

Daughter has pix of White Kitty from 6 years ago.
So she must've been around here for at least 7 years.

Besides our three housecats we too have a black kitty. He is a full fledged male that on a couple of occasions has spent a couple of nights after being on the wrong end of a fight. I have not seen him for a week or two and am getting concerned. Petting him was a rare event as well. RIP White Kitty.

Sorry to hear that.

At least you gave Kitty a better life than most independent and feral cats have. Life expectancy is about 2 years in the wild.

I miss Mommy, the feral cat that gave me and my wife 3 wonderful kittens that are now three wonderful cats in my house. I can definitely sympathize for your loss. After I set her free after the kids were weaned and she was fixed she came by for the rest of the summer and meow for food and water which she had as much as she wanted. Never saw her again after the summer ended. My wife thinks she left with the rest of her colony.

And to think that White Kitty survived -20F (-29C for ferriners)
outdoors this winter....& recovered from an injured paw.
