So you believe in the void? In my opinion, if it is an unconscious void, it might as well be heaven. But this place exists, it is called Sheol.

    Another verse:
Job 31:12: it is a fire that consumes to destruction...

Good thing in the end it only matters what God says, Not the sadist God taught in many religions claiming to be Christian, but the true God=LOVE.

Seeing that you made mentioning of
John 5:28-29, you don't really believe there are people laying in some grave, hole in the earth.

Had you back up to verse 25 --"Verily, verily,
I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live"
Question --- What exactly is that hour that Jesus is in reference to ?
Question --- Who exactly is the dead ?
Answer ---- The dead are those people who are Spiritually dead, are in Spiritual darkness of not believing in God or Christ Jesus, They are Spiritually dead. Walking in Spiritual darkness.

Now as for John 5:28-29, You do realize, that there is no one laying in some hole in the ground grave.
Ecclesiastes 12:7--"Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it"

Now as to where does the spirit go to, Have you not read, where Christ Jesus spoke about the great gulf fix in the book of
    Luke 16:26.
That those who die, can not pass back here to us, Nor can we who are alive pass to those who have died. For there is a great gulf fix between us and them.

You do realize that back in the old testament days, the grave had a hold on people, But now after Jesus has come and died and resurrection, that now the grave has no hold over people, That Jesus defeated the grave, That no one is laying in a grave a hole in the ground. But after dieing, they haved pass over into the great gulf fix.

"O death, where is your sting ? O grave, Where is your victory?
The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law
But thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ"
    1st Corinthians 15:55-57.
Therefore we have victory over the grave, that the grave no longer holds us captive in it's power to hold.

Question ---- Who is death, What is his name?
Question --- O grave where is your victory.
Christ Jesus defeated the grave at his death and Resurrection.1st Cor 15:55-57.

That no one after dieing are not laying in any grave, The only thing that is in the grave is a dead body corpse rotting away.

    Now back to John 5:28-29.

Now who do you suppose Jesus is talking about in Verse 28--"Marvel not at this, for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice"

Notice that Jesus said ( Marvel not at this )
Now why do you suppose Jesus would say
    ( Marvel not at this ? )
All because there is no one in the graves except a dead body corps. That's returning back to the earth from where it was taken from. Seeing that Jesus defeated the power of the grave, that the grave no longer holds anyone in it.

The grave in this instance represents the Spiritual dead. People who do not believe in God. They are Spiritually dead. Of having no belief in God or Christ Jesus. They are in Spiritual darkness.

Jesus also said ( For the hour is coming )
Question --- What hour is this, According to the book of Revelation ?

Jesus also said Verse 28-29 ( In the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, (And shall come forth )

The grave represents people who are Spiritually dead and who are in Spiritual darkness. Of not believing in God or Christ Jesus.
Revelation 20:14--"And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death"
Question --- Who is death, what is his name? According to the book of Revelation and the book of Hebrews.

Question -- When does the second death take place, According to the book of Revelation ?
Answer -- The second death takes place, after the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed from his prison, And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, Where the beast and the false prophet are"
Revelation 20:7-10. This being the second death.
Question -- Who exactly is the beast and false prophet.
Answer -- The beast and the false prophet, is Satan himself masquerading as a true prophet.
To deceive people into believing that he is a true prophet. The beast is Satan also, who comes like a roaring lion walks about, seeking whom he may devour. 1st Peter 5:8.

The second death takes place at the Great White Throne Judgement of God's.
    Revelation 20:11-15.

I believe you should show where in scripture sheol is described as a lake of fire. Translators may have mistakenly translated sheol as Hell but that doesn't make the two the same place.

If i may say, your right.

Seeing that hell can not be the Lake of Fire,
All because hell and death are cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:14.

You know, Just because someone might be the ( Pope over the Roman Catholic Church, or a Pastor, Preacher over a church)
Does not mean that they are not infallible. That even they can be wrong in what they will say.

Christ Jesus did say in Matthew 10:28 "Fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell"

So seeing Christ Jesus just showed they are wrong in saying there is no hell.
If there be no hell, Then how is God going to destroy both body and soul in Hell ?

This is just another reason why Christ Jesus Condemn the teachings and doctrines of man's

In Matthew 15:7-9--"Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,

8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men"

I've never read that though, that God will ''destroy both body and soul in hell?'' Is that Biblical?

I remember once hearing Pope John Paul the second had said hell was a mind state. Hell was a place here on earth when the human mind was depraved and in it's most addicted distracted or weak conditions. Then a person would be in the worst hell. Hell was the place of the weeping and gnashing of teeth. There's places like that on earth routinely.

I believe it may be the English word Hell has its origin in Hel the Norse god of the bad grave. Her realm was an entrance to the fiery place and where bad people were buried so the concept in Norse mythology is that it is the grave but the English have interpreted it as the place of fire and the grave. Sheol has no reference to fire but is simply the grave and translators should have translated sheol as "grave." In the NT the language is Greek so Greek myth comes into play with Hades being the grave I suppose although I am not conversant in it.

I believe the thing is this that in modern understanding the word Hell does not mean the grave but means the lake of fire whatever the origins may be.

I believe the translation should read the grave and death are cast into the lake of fire.

I believe there is nothing to indicate that the Bhagavad Gita is the word of God other than a false claim by Krishna.

How do you know it's false? Have you read the Gita?

One thing that all theists need to know, as uncomfortable as it is for us to accept, is that almost all religious beliefs are "unfalsifiable". There is absolutely no way that you can prove that the Gita is not "God's Word". You may believe that it's not, but neither of us can provide one shred of evidence to prove it wrong-- or right. Se la vie.

By being passive to nihilist they suffer, and then ultimately go to naught. We believe this in "my religion."
