Nah, your faith is hopeless, because the world has never been so overwhelmed with cancer and disease which science is hopelessly impotent, when it comes to finding cures.
There are millions of people dying of cancer and diseases, science can't deal with it. Science can't answer any of the basic ABC questions which little children ask, like who am I. were did I come from. why am I here, where am I going.
Science has taken 6000 years to work out the basics of physics, science uses the primitive technique called the process of elimination. They have monkeys in labs working 24/7 performing experiments to work out simple formulas. If they were smart they would be able to work things out much faster.
Science is all about discovering the laws which God placed on His creation, science can't change one single law God ordained and it can't create a single speck of dust, can you see how hopeless they are.
Several problems in this post:
1. The world is significantly *less* overwhelmed by such diseases as smallpox than it was prior to the rise of science. This is due to the advancements of science.
2. Cancer and other such diseases have *always* been a problem. Now, however, many forms of cancer can be cured. This is due to the advancements of science.
3. Because we live longer now, we are more subject to the diseases of old age. These weren't an issue before because people *died* before getting to the age where they would happen. This is due to the advancements of science.
4. We have much more productive agriculture, so finding nutritious (and non-nutritious) food is much easier than before. Of course, people overeat and so we have diseases like diabetes that don't usually affect undernourished populations. This advance in agriculture is due to the advances in science.
5. Science has not had the ball for a full 6000 years. Modern science only got started about 400-450 years ago. Modern *medicine* got started less than 200 years ago. Given the time religion had control with *no* progress at all, this is remarkably fast progress.
6. Yes, the way to find truth is to eliminate the falsehoods by testing them. Stick with the things that work and refine them as necessary. This is what had lead to the amazing advances in our understanding of the universe over the last 400 years and, especially, in the last 100 years.
7. It is more than ironic for someone to argue that science is useless while typing at a computer that is connected to the internet, allowing communication with people across the globe, based upon an understanding of electricity--all of which is due to the advancements of science.
