The posted thread quotes an explosion of 100 kilo tons 10 times an other test done by North Korea. It says nothing about a controlled explosion, this has only been mentioned as an accident.

Your quote would seem to indicate to me that it was a 100 kiloton bomb being tested. The accident was the collapse of the research and testing facility inside the mountain.

Why is the right so suddenly ready to believe that Kim will KEEP any deal he makes? The right has been focused on getting rid of the regime and suddenly because of Trump they are perfectly happy to have that regime in power and able to cheat any deal he makes now as his father and grandfather did.

I'd bet if Trump nationalized the health care industry, the right would cheer and cheer.

As far as Kim goes, I'm as skeptical now that he'll keep any agreement in the long term as I was before.

I believe China play a role in the shut down, because North Korea's Nuclear program may cause fallout in China, and in general a nuclear unstable unpredictable North Korea causes China problems.

China is the main reason I don't believe NK would have engaged in nuclear war, because NK is so heavily dependant upon China and I doubt very much China wants nuclear bombs detonating in the back yard.

100 kt is not very big in modern terms. They may have inadvertently damaged the testing location such that it was unusable ever again but they would hardly store such sensitive materials there or have any valuable personnel there either. I can't see them being that stupid. I think the Americans have made them a better offer - like financial aid. The nation is essentially bankrupt.

No one ever said this that I know of, it's just a matter of dealing with the now. NK says it's dismantling it's Nuke program--good. Are they lying or being disingenuous--who knows? We will deal with that as it comes up.

I was surprised that no media group has been reporting the actual reason. I haven't posted because I doubted myself with the lack of media report. At mother's day meal, my brother in law a Fox New's guy and Trump Supporter responded to my brothers inquiry into why North Korea was giving up Nuclear Weapons.

He stated they had a major Nuclear Disaster. I couldn't believe it, I asked how he came to the same conclusion I had. He was interested after the Fox Reports on the mountain collaspe and did some internet research. Fox and Trump supporters can make real discoveries.

The mountain under which they tested their nuclear weapons has Collapsed. There were earthquakes associated along the China/North Korea boarder. The estimate is 100 Kilotons, Hiroshima was 15 Kilotons

More than likely a bulk of his scientists and nuclear specialists were lost during the accident. Also most of the needed materials are not accessible now and won't be for 1000's of years. Kim Jung Un only save face is to get a deal with South Korea and offering nothing of value. Yes getting North Korea to commit to not making Nuclear Weapons is a big political win but the truth is that they no longer can make Nuclear Weapon's and it would take years before they could again.

I wouldn't give faux news that much credit to be honest. Have you watched their show?
