The bakers immediately jumped on Facebook and bragged about how they had refused the gay couple believing it would generate MORE sales for them.

There is NO assault on the Boy Scouts, drama queen.

    Crisis magazine needs your money..

I laughed when they wrote this:

For its first 100 years “morally straight” meant that homosexuals could not be members of Boy Scouts of America because they did not “possess the moral … and emotional qualities deemed necessary” to be role models and leaders of youth. Provided that someone did not “avow” that they were homosexual and did not promote or advocate homosexuality, however, an individual’s sexual orientation was considered irrelevant to membership in the Boy Scouts of America. This was true whether it was a youth member or an adult member.

Hypocrites and manipulative liars. The BSA has more integrity than the fools who are attacking them.

Laugh all you want. But those "morally straight" guidelines from the BSA didn't originate from secular humanism but from a society that was overwhelmingly a Judaic / Christian community.

It's not so much that I'm confused as that it seems like you're simply wrong, but I'mgiving you the opportunity to explain yourself.

The Boy Scouts of America isn't a Christian organization and - AFAICT - never has been:

Boy Scouts of America membership controversies - Wikipedia

A quick Googling tells me that the BSA started accepting Buddhist members in 1920.

    So I repeat my questions:

    - what "all-out assault?"
    - the Boy Scouts of America aren't a Christian organization. They go to great lengths to make that clear. Why are you lumping them in with Christianity?

Maybe try answering them this time.

As opposed to a morally-subjective, spiritually-challenged, secular community?

Boy Scouts has been a huge success among the Saudis in Arabia since 1950s.

The Saudi Arabian Boy Scouts Association (SABSA, Arabic : جمعية الكشافة العربية السعودية ‎) is the national Scouting organization of Saudi Arabia. Scouting was officially founded in Saudi Arabia in 1961, though Scouting was active many years prior to the founding date, and became a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1963. It has 19,269 members (as of 2010).

Maybe if you could have comprehended my previous post you wouldn't be asking again.

And if you're still confused try submitting it to prayer.

Why do you suppose the Boy Scouts have been so successful in Saudi Arabia?

I did comprehend it, but I'm doing my best to give you the benefit of the doubt that you didn't intend it to be as ignorant and paranoid as it came across.

None of which are remotely applicable to the state of Christianity in the US today.

There has never been a Judaic-Christian community.

The less education and the less travel, the wackier and more entrenched the prejudice.

I was a Scout myself - in Canada - and I clearly recall reading in all our materials that all the references to "God" weren't meant refer to the Christian God specifically, but to whichever god the individual Scout believed in. "Duty to God" wasn't meant to refer to any sort of Christian tenets necessarily, but to the Scout's duty to approach their religion - any religion - honestly and honourably.

Theism was nominally required, but Christianity was not.

Now... I know that in the US, many Scout troops are sponsored and hosted by churches, but AFAIK no troop forbids non-Christians from joining, insists that members practice Christianity, or does anything else that would justify calling the BSA a Christian organization.

I can't help but wonder if the BSA's anti-atheist and anti-LGBTQ views were what made @Spartan decide that they must be Christian.

This isn't an assault on gay people, it's a continuing discussion concerning the moral foundations of God / Christianity in relation to left-wing moral relativism that supports moral depravity.

In the sense that they have intersecting religious
    & political traits, I'd say they're a community.
