Sure, but the outcome is the same either way...
Of course.

Old story stolen from some website....
Originally told by the Buddha of a Zen Master who, while out walking one day, is confronted by a ferocious, man-eating tiger. He slowly backs away from the animal, only to find that he is trapped at the edge of a high cliff; the tiger snarls with hunger, and pursues the Master. His only hope of escape is to suspend himself over the abyss by holding onto a vine that grows at its edge. As the Master dangles from the cliff, two mice – one white and one black – begin to gnaw on the vine he is clutching on. If he climbs back up, the tiger will surely devour him, if he stays then there is the certain death of a long fall onto the jagged rocks. The slender vine begins to give way, and death is imminent. Just then the precariously suspended Zen Master notices a lovely ripe wild strawberry growing along the cliff’s edge. He plucks the succulent berry and pops it into his mouth. “This lovely strawberry, how sweet it tastes.”

Hope is the strawberry.

In less than six months, Trump has been better than 8 years of Obama.
In what way?
The stock market was nearly triple from what it was when Obama took office. The real estate market was growing again. Unemployment was shrinking. Illegal workers were going away.

What are you talking about?
Tom

PS ~this looks like your assertions about theology. Demonstrably untrue. But you are confident
Much of it emanates from illegal alliens who came into the USA unimpeded under Obama.
Do you really not understand that employers giving jobs to illegal workers dropped under Obama? It skyrocketed under Bush, then dropped slightly under Obama. Those are the facts. You are certainly entitled to your own opinions, but you are not entitled to your own facts.

Did you hear about the Zen master who asked the hot dog vendor outside of Sam's Club to make him one with everything?

When the Zen master requested change, the hot dog vendor, still irritated by the previous comment, told the Zen master that change must come from within.

"Do what thou will shall be the whole of the law"
He's doing what he has promised. He created jobs, put in a temporary ban and is fighting to keep it in, illegals are not coming in and exiting the country, destroyed Obamaism, started planning for the wall, has a replacement for Obamacare, draining the swamp and more.

Merry Christmas!

3. "If I become president, we're all going to be saying 'Merry Christmas' again."

12. Frequently use the term "radical Islamic terrorism."

13. Temporarily ban most foreign Muslims from entering the United States "until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on." Trump would allow exceptions for dignitaries, business people, athletes and others who have "proven" themselves.

7. Knock down the regulatory walls between states for health insurance, making plans available nationally instead of regionally.

10. Defund Planned Parenthood.

1. Build a wall along the southern border that's taller than the arenas where Trump holds his rallies, taller than any ladder and one foot taller than the Great Wall of China. This "artistically beautiful" wall will be constructed out of hardened concrete, rebar and steel, and it will be "the greatest wall that you've ever seen" -- so great that the nation will likely one day name it "The Trump Wall."

2. Make Mexico pay for the wall. If Mexico refuses, then the United States will impound all remittance payments taken from the wages of illegal immigrants, cut foreign aid, institute tariffs, cancel visas for Mexican business leaders and diplomats, and increase fees for visas, border-crossing cards and port use.

8. Rebuild the country's aging infrastructure -- especially bridges and airports that look like they belong in a third-world country -- for one-third of what the United States is currently paying for such projects.

14. Bar Syrian refugees from entering the country and kick out any who are already living here. Trump says wealthy Persian Gulf nations like Saudi Arabia should pay to set up a heavily guarded "safe zone" in Syria.

15. Heavily surveil mosques in the United States. Trump has said he's open to the idea of closing some mosques.

16. Create a database of Syrian refugees. Trump hasn't ruled out creating a database of Muslims in the country.

17. Never take a vacation while serving as president.

19. Make medical marijuana widely available to patients, and allow states to decide if they want to fully legalize pot or not.

20. Stop spending money on space exploration until the United States can fix its potholes. Encourage private space-exploration companies to expand.

21. Pick Supreme Court justices who are "really great legal scholars."

22. Ensure that Iowa continues to host the nation's first presidential nominating contest.

23. Strengthen the military so that it's "so big and so strong and so great" that "nobody's going to mess with us."

24. Be unpredictable. "No one is going to touch us, because I'm so unpredictable."

25. Allow Russia to deal with the Islamic State in Syria and/or work with Russian President Vladimir Putin to wipe out shared enemies.

26. "Bomb the s--- out of ISIS." Also bomb oil fields controlled by the Islamic State, then seize the oil and give the profits to military veterans who were wounded while fighting.

27. Target and kill the relatives of terrorists.

28. Shut down parts of the Internet so that Islamic State terrorists cannot use it to recruit American children.

29. Bring back waterboarding, which the Obama administration considers torture. Trump has said he's willing to use interrogation techniques that go even further than waterboarding. Even if such tactics don't work, "they deserve it anyway, for what they're doing."

30. Leave troops in Afghanistan because it's such "a mess." Protect Israel. And increase U.S. military presence in the East and South China Seas.

48. Force Nabisco to once again make Oreos in the United States. And bully Apple into making its "damn computers" and other products here.

76 Campaign promises
Here are 76 of Donald Trump’s many campaign promises

Maybe he'll expose who's really behind Russian ties and put some high Democrats in jail. We can never elect Democrats to office again (or at least for the next eight years).

Sketchy firm behind Trump dossier is stalling investigators

"Target and kill the relatives of terrorists." You think that sounds good? To kill people because of who their relatives are? What if we had executed every person who was related to Timothy McVeigh? All people have rights.

"Heavily surveil mosques in the United States. Trump has said he's open to the idea of closing some mosques." Isn't that against The First Amendment? How about we just keep a good eye on people who express terrorist beliefs? What about the non-Islamic terrorists out there?

"Bring back waterboarding, which the Obama administration considers torture. Trump has said he's willing to use interrogation techniques that go even further than waterboarding. Even if such tactics don't work, "they deserve it anyway, for what they're doing." If these people are Americans this violates The Eighth Amendment, and I'm sure there is something about this in The Universal Human Rights Declaration.

"Rebuild the country's aging infrastructure -- especially bridges and airports that look like they belong in a third-world country -- for one-third of what the United States is currently paying for such projects." Thumbs up! But of course I'm a liberal who thinks FDR was our greatest President, because of all he did to end the Great Depression and help Americas poor. He created public works projects that made our country better and put people back to work.

"Build a wall along the southern border that's taller than the arenas where Trump holds his rallies, taller than any ladder and one foot taller than the Great Wall of China. This "artistically beautiful" wall will be constructed out of hardened concrete, rebar and steel, and it will be "the greatest wall that you've ever seen" -- so great that the nation will likely one day name it "The Trump Wall." Thumbs up! How can we secure every America a decent standard of living when we are expected to provide for illegal immigrants? But of course I'm a liberal who believes in giving amnesty to non-criminal illegal immigrants now living here.

"Leave troops in Afghanistan because it's such "a mess." Protect Israel. And increase U.S. military presence in the East and South China Seas." Thumbs up! If that means promoting Democracy, I think everyone has the right to live in a Democratic country.

"Stop spending money on space exploration until the United States can fix its potholes. Encourage private space-exploration companies to expand." Thumbs up! We need to worry about our world first. Yes I am a liberal with environmentalist beliefs, but I'm more concerned with making sure everyone has access to healthcare and life necessities.

"Make medical marijuana widely available to patients, and allow states to decide if they want to fully legalize pot or not." Thumbs up! I feel the same way about gay marriage and abortion, it will make things less controversial if we let each state do what they want.

"Knock down the regulatory walls between states for health insurance, making plans available nationally instead of regionally." Are you for national healthcare? I am, but with the free market involved. Mitt Romney had a plan that worked well in his home state MA. That was having private companies that were subsidized by the state government to basically insure the poor and letting people pay more for more insurance if they decided to buy more.

I do hope Trump backs faith and community based initiatives, because as a Secular Humanist I believe in charity and that nothing will ever be more beautiful than what is done altruistically (out of the good heart).
>>I do hope Trump backs faith and community based initiatives, because as a Secular Humanist I believe in charity and that nothing will ever be more beautiful than what is done altruistically (out of the good heart).<<

We need the context. Some of it we agree on. The big thing we do not agree on is secular humanism. More on that below.

Much of it emanates from illegal alliens who came into the USA unimpeded under Obama. We do not want them to take away jobs in a down economy and make American citizens second class. We do not need illegals to have the right to vote. If black lives matter (not the hate/terrorist group BLM), then they should be able to get jobs instead of the Muslims. Under DJT, black employment is at all time high. Contrast that to what the black president did.. We saw all of this and I experienced part of it first hand. I have an advanced degree, but couldn't get the jobs I wanted because they went to foreign students. After enough times, one can figure out what is happening. For example, I wasn't in favor of a wall if it was terrorists that we wanted to keep out. However, a wall in order to make the border safer for guards to monitor makes sense. We will be able to document those who come in and what is coming in. It's no secret why we are safer in the US under Trump than what's happening in Europe.

What atheism provides is an abstraction, i.e. something entirely different in order to cover for what is truly coming and that is Communism. Secular humanism is such a group. It's an atheist cult. You know it covers topics such as utopia, a so-called understanding of science and technology (not accurate), and some kind of social gradeur which may or may not be fulfilling.

The flip side is McCarthyism. We have the nuts who see Communism everywhere and everything like during the 50s. It became a very real ideology because of secular humanism cult groups and the fear of how communism could permeate our US society. We do not want to go through that period again, yet, here we are talking about Russians and infiltration into our highest levels of government today.

From what I see Secular Humanism defends democratic ideals. Secular Humanism asks the question, "how can we make life better for people without depending on god?" There are different ideas on how to improve life for humanity, communism is one of them. But capitalism ends up creating more technology, more innovations, more knew ideas that improve the quality of life than does a state controlled economy. It makes sense that people will want to work hard and come up with better technology etc. if they are going to be rewarded for their achievements, that's a facet of capitalism, people get to make money for their accomplishments. BTW socialism is different than communism, democratic socialism means the government creating programs to help the disadvantaged and making society democratic on more than just a political level i.e. giving everyone the right to a decent standard of living, not letting the people at the top collect all the poker chips.

Hope is all I gots, since I've no influence with Trump.
(And hope is better than dread.)

My biggest problem with your statement is this notion that it is flexibility at work here. I see no evidence of this with Trump. What I see is a group of people who have no clue what they are doing, who cannot stay on task, who struggle to have a coherent message. That isn't flexibility, it's incompetence.

I only say that flexibility is a possible motive.
Incompetence is certainly another possibility.

But there is evidence of some competence in his administration.
The VA is finally seeing positive change.
Trump extends vets' access to privatized health care
Obama holdover: Trump style 'quicker, more decisive'

The idea that politicians are either all good (my side) or all bad (the other side)
is one best avoided. Things are rarely so extreme, despite how they might feel.

The last episode of Modern Family i saw a couple of weeks ago strongly suggested that incompetence is completely acceptable and that diligence, competency and even accountability are UNdesirable. I became so angry i just walked out, then went into a three day rant about it.
When this is what people become, they stop living, stop evolving and start dying a slow miserable lingering death.
This is a little hard to find, but this clip actually shows the incident in which the subject of my rant started out with.
If you can find and watch this entire episode, you will have no trouble understanding my distress.
Things that destroy societies from within like cancer.

I still go off like a bomb when i see incompetence being accepted over diligence and accountability. We are a nation of laws for a reason. If we cannot be held accountable by our peers for our actions or negligence, the law can no longer stand and we are lost to savagery, pestilence, famine and mass die-off at the least. That up there i posted is the way DOWN, not up.
It threatens everything you remember and cherish and it could possibly be deliberate.
The world and our owners have no further need of our fallacies, follies, hopes and dreams, the world only needs workers with minimal needs and NO aspirations ideas of their own OR opinions.
ESPECIALLY NO opinions.
