yeah......I saw the problem when the hurricanes went through the south
the wealthy were targeted by the authorities
looting had become a serious problem
and houses of good estate were become targets BY people of need
so.....zip tie the home owner
ransack the premises
clear the house of all weapons

I'd imagine there would be a buy back program and then a grace period with a voluntary turn in first, it would seem unnecesarily confrontational to confiscate by force out of the gate.
Since most gun crime occurs in the inner city it would make sense to start with it first. Do a house to house search of each and every household and apartment while the occupants are held at gunpoint including the children.

Depends on if it is a law or not. Also they must have a warrant. If they have neither in support I close my door in their face.

as per a previous post.....I saw the event on the news
the law.....martial law
was applied
the very thing home owners worry for
the very event home owners buy guns in preparation
a disaster event
looting follows
and the law comes to take away the item the home owner might need
very much so

Depends why martial law was declared and the related laws around Habeas corpus. A hurricane is not grounds for it so any warrant-less action or without cause is illegal. The gun owner can refuse in such a situation.

Are we supposed to have guns in this situation? I don't have any, however if I did I would refuse and be arrested.
Either way, I would record the encounter.
