I'm not sure there is God.....if there is, he/it seems pretty apathetic or distant. I'm reluctant to believe any one person's version of God (especially ancient accounts), what more could they know than me?It doesn't matter what faith you follow or why you follow it. What I want to know is what has GOD done for you to believe in Him?
What if God gave a certain created humanoid species no reason whatsoever for them to believe in Him, none at all other than their own existence and free will? Amazingly for some of that species that was enough. Not only was that enough but they absolutely loved Him for it.
They knew nothing of God, they had no evidence other than what they could see, feel, smell, taste, and touch but in everything they sensed they saw God in some way. They ignored what others said about Him because they knew in their hearts what He must really be like. And they smiled a lot.
I love you! Frubals for the wording of your topic.......
First of all, why post if you're going to avoid answering the question I've asked. Second of all, what's the point you're trying to make with such a fictitious species?
How is God necessary in this instance?Okay, I'll make it extremely simple for you. An infant smiles and laughs when I tickle his feet. To me, this proves God exists because if not there would be no happiness at all.
He has consoled me when I was sad, lifted me when I was down, strengthened me when I was weak... He has loved me no matter what darkness I fall intoWhat I want to know is what has GOD done for you to believe in Him?
Wow! Quite a lot of anger projected there? Are you sure I deserved that? Okay, I'll make it extremely simple for you. An infant smiles and laughs when I tickle his feet. To me, this proves God exists because if not there would be no happiness at all.

By consoling/strengthening/continuing to love even at my darkest...How did He do that?
Because, I did not...What makes you not give yourself the credit for changing your own viewpoint of a situation and dealing with it?
What He has done for me to believe is give me senses and a mind. My senses and my mind see God in everything, much like Maggie 2's post above. It doesn't matter what faith you follow or why you follow it. What I want to know is what has GOD done for you to believe in Him?

Greetings kadzbiz. For me to believe, God gave God by overcoming the last step in dissolution of estrangement. It doesn't matter what faith you follow or why you follow it. What I want to know is what has GOD done for you to believe in Him?
