Some scientists are beginning to believe we may be headed for another Ice Age.

Just for a moment, if we where to assume this was true, should we do anything to stop this? :D

Moving the earth closer to the sun seems like the simplest solution.

Or start making cars bigger and use more gasoline. We might even be able to remove pollution equipment the EPA mandates. :p

We could all start burning coal again for heat. Oh - and eating lots of fast food and pizza.

And maybe we could harness the gas emmissions of herds of cows as a new energy source.

We already burn coal for heat. Most of our electricity comes from coal-burning plants.

I don't think we could do anything to stop the normal march of nature. All the efforts we make to clear the atmosphere of pollution are neutralized by one volcanic eruption on the other side of the world. We certainly can not control the eruptions on the Sun or solar flares. It seems to me the only value in attempting to control something as big as the ice age, or global warming for that matter, is that A. Gore gets to pay his fifth home off in th mountains of Tennessee.

No! You have to change the angle of the Sun Rays on the Earth. We learned that in grade school.

    Source?

Probably, since most of the human population would die of starvation in another ice age, and the rest would be slitting each other's throats for the last scraps of arable land.

It is a Galactic Winter Solstice that our solar system will finish passing through on 12/21/15. The earths mean tempature will begin dropping after it finishes passing through and there is nothing that we can do.

Do you not have google? This is the problem with folks wanting sources.

ALL SOURSES ARE BIASED IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER. NO SOURSE IS 100% CORRECT.

Using the reasoning behind wanting sources in the first place would imply that before the internet, nothing was true because it was not on the net.

It really is a big waste of time posting sources because they all have faults that can be challenged. But yet we ask for them anyway. Not exactly an honest request is it?

    That guy sounds pretty confused.

There is some danger that global warming could kill the mid-Atlantic currents that keep the UK and northern Europe relatively warm, but this is a local phenomenon - the global average temperature would still be increasing.
