Germany blasts Mark Zuckerberg over Facebook Holocaust denial posts

In theory, Facebook would have to remove such content in countries where such content is illegal or risk prosecution. If they can neuter kiddy porn from their system flagging illegal political content ought to be a piece of cake.

I'm on it because friends post stuff there that I hear nowhere else. But I'm a very infrequent poster.

I thought holocaust denial was kiddy porn....which is childish adults with pornographic ideas that the nazis were a decent bunch really and it's grossly unfair to label them As a genocide loving psychotic cult. I think the label is well earned.

Berlin says Facebook's policy of not removing Holocaust denial posts is contrary to German law and "is not possible in Germany."
I will post it here also Facebook is being complicit if they don't shut it down. Nazis have zero free speech rights. They lost that right last century. Reanimating it should be considered criminal actions, end of story. They can call themselves the tulips. That's fine.

Looks like Facebook will need to censor what Germans see.
I wouldn't want that happening here.

I would be surprised if it does not happen in US. They hide more than you can imagine. They show us the tip of iceberg just to keep all meek IMO.

Good for Germany for taking a stand. With freedom of speech comes the responsibility to use that freedom appropriately. If we drive a motor vehicle, we need to abide by laws. Why not with the excercise of speech?

Yea, it is written in the Book of Cyril...

I will never agree with censorship. Even of Nazis. The only way to fight an idea is to freely debate it, so you can openly show what's wrong with it. Declaring any idea forbidden to even discuss ultimately just makes it stronger.

I am pretty sure that child pornography is illegal in most countries so it makes sense that it would be removed and those responsible for posting or creating it reported and hopefully prosecuted. When it comes to random political censorship laws in certain countries I'm not such a big fan, one could easily include religious blasphemy restrictions. If religious or political blasphemy laws were to be enforced on social media platforms it would require either a society with people so indoctrinated that they would report suspected religious or political blasphemy for review to whoever is running the show or blasphemy police to have access to peoples accounts to scan for blasphemous content, either way that is a world I would not like to see.

I already said they can be tulips.then again their lack of creativity demonstrates a rather rote behavioral view. Robotic.

Let's hope that the US government never acquires such power over us.

That is correct, not only is the us government censoring information (the trump government has taken it to a new level). But also the media censor or direct foreign news.
