Fully Vaccinated? Ditch The Mask

New CDC guidelines are if you are fully vaccinated you can safely do away with a mask and forgo social distancing.

Fully vaccinated? You can ditch the mask, CDC says
"The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced Thursday that people who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 no longer need to wear masks or physically distance — whether indoors or outdoors in most circumstances."
People who have been vaccinated can still get the virus. The symptoms and the outcomes are vastly improved but THEY CAN STILL GET THE VIRUS.

If they can get the virus, then they can also pass it on to less protected people.

Disposable masks might harm the environment, please let us vaccinated persons consider the environmental impact of unnecessarily wearing disposable masks.

I don't wear disposable masks.

They can get the virus certainly, but the immune system kill the invaders as far as I can tell. There is no transmission from someone vaccinated unless people have been intentionally lied to about the effectiveness of the vaccine.

All the more reason that getting vaccinated is a waste of time if it dosent work. What's the point if that is the case?

People die in cars wearing seat belts - what's the point in wearing a seat belt?

8 from Yankees positive for Covid in post-vaccine breakthrough cases

The point is, if you catch the virus, its effects are greatly reduced.

Now this one angers me. I'll wear a mask and shirt without complaint. Heck, I'll even put on some pants. But why in the world do I have to wear shoes? Who does this benefit?

Barrier against foot odour is a benefit beyond belief... :mansshoe:.

Isn't foot odor, in most cases, a result of wearing shoes?

Oh damn, foiled again.

But you gotta admit, the shoes are good of masking the odour produced by wearing the shoes. Is that circular reasoning and good reason to ditch my loubies?

Okay. Walking on the sidewalk. Dogs walk on the sidewalk. Dogs do their business on the sidewalk. Shoe on. Feet okay. Bare foot? Not so much.

No shoes. No service!

COVID-19 Vaccination
COVID-19 vaccines are effective. However, a small percentage of people who are fully vaccinated will still get COVID-19 if they are exposed to the virus that causes it. These are called “vaccine breakthrough cases.” This means that while people who have been vaccinated are much less likely to get sick, it may still happen. Experts continue to study how common these cases are.

Then it is the person who is not vaccinated responsibility to either get the vaccine or take percautions. It is not my responsibility to protect the dummies. Darwin theory at work as far as I'm concerned.
I refuse to subscribe to your idea that if you have been fully vaccinated that you have to wear a mask. But if you want to, be my guest.

Why do people get the flu vaccine but still cover their mouth, wash their hands, and tend to symptoms just in case they catch the flu?

Vaccines aren't superpowers.

The flu vaccines are "best guess" on what strain of the flu will be active during the upcoming flu season.
The flu vaccines are not effective aginst every strain of the flu. whereas at the present the current covid vaccines are effective aginst all strains of covid-19.

Moreover, the CDC can’t overrule or countermand state executive orders. I don’t see Tovarishch Murphsky in the Union of Soviet Socialist Counties of New Jersey relenting any time soon, whatever the CDC says.

Mask Requirement Continues In NY And NJ | Q104.3

Now let someone tell me I don’t know what’s going on in my own state (oh Heavens, no one ever said that! ). NJ mask mandate continues despite new CDC mask guidance

I would have been a prophet but there’s no money in it.

CDC says the vaccine isn't %100 and they don't know how long it would be given the variants. It's actually on the OP website I realized.

COVID-19 Vaccination

It's not fixed. Vaccinated people can still get COVID just less risk not no risk of those without it.

"We are still learning how effective the vaccines are against new variants of the virus that causes COVID-19."

"You should still watch out for symptoms of COVID-19, especially if you’ve been around someone who is sick...

...If you have symptoms of COVID-19, you should get tested and stay home and away from others"

I think it's wise to consider you aren't scott free because one is vaccinated. Any doctor would tell you there are always variables of effectiveness in anything meant to treat health (lbw).
