While there is no reason to think angels cannot appear to people, I think it would be rare and allot of what goes for spiritual angel talk is a distraction. 'This house is protected by angels' is a nice thought but not very specific and angels can be held in esteem in a way that leaves off God or Jesus which is a big mistake

    Hi Deidre,

Yup. I believe that both Angels and 'Fallen Angels' (whom I call Djinn) appear to people today (though people don't always realise it!).

I met a guy who said he was an angel. But he was crazy. His mother with him said he indeed was an angel.....she was crazy too. (This really happened). But seriously. According to scripture as DavidFirth said, it has happened. Today? I suppose its possible.

What about the account in Genesis 6 about the sons of God taking the daughters of men as wives and reproducing?

It's entirely possible. Some suppose that's how Satan's angels fell from grace. The text isn't 100% clear about who the "sons of God" was referring to so I can make no definite conclusions.

well after so many people confirming little or near about similar experiences one is compelled to check with others , if whats happening to them is real or delusions, even if i get an undeniable evidence i still would discard it , as the default sanity is rigged by the human brain's own capacity.

But i like the explanation about how a 2-dimensional being would understand a 3 dimensional being and further on , one some you tube channel i forgot.

something is going on ..but i don't know what it is ..LOL

If anything the fallen angels are morality and serve a purpose so pleasure can exist in heaven. Angel of light I'll have you.

Generally speaking it is a no. Angels are servants of God. They usually appear hand in hand with the prophets. That is, the angels are active when the prophets are active. They are active because "God has something to do".

Prophets were active in the past during two periods of times. One was the crafting of the OT, the other was the crafting of the NT. To be more specific, once God has a covenant for humans, He starts to employ prophets as human witnesses to carry forward its contents. Prophets are generally chosen witnesses of God. That's why they encountered angels as part of the witnessing process. Once the Bible is done, prophets will no longer be active as God has no more covenant to be granted. The one brought through Jesus is the last and permanent one.

That's said. The last period of time when the prophets are active again is the time when the end draws near. Angels will appear too. The book of Revelation has some descriptions about them. Again, they are active because "God has something to do", which is, the final judgment will come upon humans.

    That's the big picture.

Personally I had an encounter with an fallen angel, his name is believed to be Satan. The encounter last for around 45 minutes, when I was fully conscious. It is a scenario very similar to the following,

    2 Corinthians 12:3-4
And I know that this man—whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, but God knows— was caught up to paradise and heard inexpressible things, things that no one is permitted to tell.

Interesting. Would you feel comfortable expanding on that a bit here?

@Deidre...here is some information you may find helpful....on the subject of Angels......

What does the Bible tell us?

    • Just as God is a Spirit, angels too are invisible spirits who do “not have flesh and bones.” The loyal angels reside in the heavens and have direct access to God’s heavenly presence.—Luke 24:39; Matthew 18:10; John 4:24.

    • Angels have at times appeared in human form to care for God-given assignments on earth and then dematerialized after completing their assignments.—Judges 6:11-23; 13:15-20.

    • Although angels are presented in the Bible as males and have always materialized as males, there is no male or female distinction among them. They do not marry and reproduce their own kind. Moreover, angels did not first come into existence as humans on earth—whether as babies, children, or adults. Angels were created by Jehovah; thus the Bible calls them “sons of the true God.”—Job 1:6; Psalm 148:2, 5.

    • The Bible speaks of “the tongues of men and of angels,” indicating that spirit persons have language and speech. Although God has used angels to communicate with humans, he does not permit us to worship angels or pray to them.—1 Corinthians 13:1; Revelation 22:8, 9.

    • There are myriads upon myriads of angels, perhaps numbering into the billions. —Daniel 7:10; Revelation 5:11.

    • Angels are “mighty in power”—much more powerful than humans—and they have superhuman intelligence. They evidently can travel at tremendous speeds, far exceeding the limits of the physical world.—Psalm 103:20; Daniel 9:20-23.

    • Despite their higher mental and spiritual powers, angels have limitations, and there are some things they do not know.—Matthew 24:36; 1 Peter 1:12.

    • Angels were created with personalities, divine qualities, and free will. Hence, like humans, they can choose to do right or wrong. Sadly, some angels chose to rebel against God.—Jude 6.
    The Truth About Angels

I do not believe that angels "appear" to people today in the same way that they did in Bible times, but it is interesting to note what the apostle Paul said.....

"Do not forget hospitality, for through it some unknowingly entertained angels." (Hebrews 13:2) Perhaps they are among us but we don't see them as any different to anyone else. Its an interesting thought.

There is no doubt that these "sons of God" were disobedient angels who materialized human form and had relations with "the daughters of men". Since marriage had been taking place for generations, this is not talking about normal human relationships. The "nephilim" were the product of those unions. Since these were not Adam's offspring, but hybrid bullies with a lustful and violent disposition, God ensured that they were all wiped out in the flood. They had no right to exist.

We find their fathers' influence still in the world today, saturated with violence and immorality and the dark side of the supernatural so evident in films and video games. We see these mostly directed at children and the youth in a "Pied Piper" kind of retaliation for the loss of their own children in the flood. We see them getting led away from what is good and from belief in God. This is no coincidence. :(

There is no mention of these wicked spirits being able to materialize again after the flood. But faithful angels did.

This ties in with 1 Peter 3:19-20.... “In this state [in the spirit, following his resurrection] also he [Jesus] went his way and preached to the spirits in prison, who had once been disobedient when the patience of God was waiting in Noah’s days, while the ark was being constructed, in which a few people, that is, eight souls [“souls,” KJ, Dy; “people,” TEV, JB; “persons,” RS], were carried safely through the water.”

Were those “spirits in prison” the souls of the humans who had refused to take heed to Noah’s preaching before the Flood? Not if you compare 2 Peter 2:4 and Jude 6 with Genesis 6:2-4 which shows that these "spirits" were angelic sons of God that had materialized and married human women in Noah’s day.

At 1 Peter 3:19-20 the Greek word for “spirits” is pneuʹma·sin, while the word rendered “souls” is psy·khaiʹ. The “spirits” were not disembodied souls but disobedient angels [spirits]; the “souls” here referred to were living people, humans, Noah and his household. What was preached to “spirits in prison” must therefore have been a message of judgment.

2 Peter 2:4..."Certainly if God did not hold back from punishing the angels that sinned, but, by throwing them into Tarʹta·rus, delivered them to pits of dense darkness to be reserved for judgment."

This is undoubtedly the judgment message that Jesus delivered to them.

I knew a lady that could see Angels. This lady would tell me things about me and my family she should have never known, so I trust that she had real supernatural gifts
