Five black police officers charged with murder of black man after traffic stop

If you look at the slopes of all the graph lines, you notice that all but 2 are flat or at worst flattish. But the white and black lines have quite steep slopes -- and in OPPOSITE directions -- about +1 for blacks, -1 for whites. That does seem to show that something is very much askew.

It recently changed to make a big deal of all
5 cops being black. It went from total silence
to major coverage.
They're suggesting now that the perps being
rapidly charged is due to white racism. Another
explanation is that black folk are increasingly
outraged that one of their own is regularly killed.
When black Baltimore cops killed Freddie Gray,
8 years ago, it took a long time to charge them.
Alas...sometimes it's not racism. It's poorly
selected, poorly trained, poorly supervised,
poorly sanctioned cops.

A victim's race is only prominent in the news
when they're black. No headline every has
"white" preceding "man" or "woman" when
they're murdered by cops.
This explains white folk being rather silent
on beatings & killings by cops.

I think TH its assuming if it had been white cops there would be protests, BLM showing up, it would be on every news channel and be in every news paper. Since not, the person must not matter.
We'll see what happens in Memphis when
the body cam recording is released.

These officers have been charged with murder. At this point in time the legal system seems to be working. That is why there are no major protests.
Had these men not been charged the situation might be different.
It has nothing to do with the race of cops.
Race is never out as a factor.

The left is % they make up of the population.
The right is % they make up of the prison population. See picture with red circles.
As you can see...in 2016..
-whites made 62% of the population but 32% of the prison population.
-blacks made up 12% of the population but 34% of the prison population.
-hispanics made up 17% of the population but 21% of the prison population.
Etc etc.

I guess it's a wait and see situation now.
I have looked at it. If you will recall, I suggested that there must be an undelying explanation -- things like "are blacks more likely to be criminals and whites more likely to be saints?"
I did not make a judgement -- I asked for thought from you, me and the rest of the members reading this.
The one thing I do not believe, nor will ever believe, is that "race" (whatever the hell that is) alone can be predictive of moral behaviour. So I'm telling you I don't believe whites are saints and blacks are devils. And I'm asking you to give some thought to what else might explain that rather astonishing difference in the slopes on the graph.
If you'd prefer not to do that, your prerogative. But I hope other members might give it some thought.

You can take it anyway you choose. But I wouldn't call whites saints with around 50% being incarcerated.
