I really do want to get an idea of what members think......
This question has been sparked by conversation on another thread .......

OK... I have seen President Trump hold up a big black book which looked like a bible. He held it high for pictures whilst standing outside the church by the White House. I think it might have been upside down, but that's the kind of mistake that I would make. He has referred to his Christian supporters on telly, and I don't know much else about his own religious 'position'.

So........ Please....... what do you think?

He thrice calls himself a Christian. I don't have any reason to think he's lying about his religious affiliation.

I think he's probably a cultural Christian, but not a practicing one.

I meet a lot of those... They don't actually believe much that is in the Bible(or read it to know), but desire to be part of the overwhelming 'tribe', and to behave like 'normal Americans', so they claim to hold the religion.

He just converted to non denominational christianity recently. I suspect he did it for political motivations, especially since this happened during the voting period of the presidential race.

I think the closest he gets in his pursuit of god is when he thumbs through his money printed with "In god we trust." But if he says he's a christian, I guess he's a christian, though.

From 0:01 to 0:15 Trump explains the exact reason why he is beloved and liked in my country, whereas Bergoglio is not...even by many nuns and bishops.
