Trump, Dumb As Ever. And This Is The Guy Some People Feel Is Fit To Be President

"Trump Asks Pastor Who Says Jews Are Going to Hell To Speak at Hanukkah Reception

In a bizarre moment during the White House’s Hanukkah Reception yesterday, Donald Trump invited Pastor Robert Jeffress — Southern Baptist Pastor Robert Jeffress — to address the crowd.

In case you’re not familiar with him, that would be the same Robert Jeffress who once said “you can’t be saved being a Jew” during a rant in which he also condemned Islam and Mormonism.

That comment on its own isn’t shocking. It’s what many Christians believe about everyone else who’s not a Christian. You have to agree with them on the Jesus myth or it’s an eternity of torture for you. But to have Jeffress speak to a crowd of Jews during an event in their honor? It makes as much sense as when Jeffress spoke in Jerusalem last year to mark the opening of the new U.S. embassy.

The presumption here being that Trump is capable of making sense. 'Taint gonna happen people.

Criticism from a guy who wanted Hillary as President is less than stinging.

This is the same guy who burned a copy of the Qur'an, right?

I always thought burning Qurans or any other thing folks disagree with is kind of funny. Once someone buys something, they give them their money, which goes towards making more of that thing that they hate. What happens after it's in your hand is irrelevant, because it becomes your property after you buy it.

One could say that it's to make a statement, and sure it is, but why is no one burning any more Qurans? That phase came and went. Islam continues to grow. Life goes on after the tantrum is thrown.

Ah ha! The old Trump ploy. When cornered throw out a reference to Hillary. Maybe it will distract the jackals long enough so they forget the issue. :D

It was a choice between 2 candidates, ie, his fitness vs hers.
One cannot consider one without the other.
And her being the top choice for 2020 among Dems
in a recent poll makes her even more relevant.
But then TDS sufferers know only that they hate
Trump. They'll vote for her again without question.

Really...it's been 3 years or so.
Let it go.

Aye, it's akin to burning the Ameristanian flag.
It's speech.
I oppose sawdust & firewood....so I burn those.

Interesting. Nobody brought up the election at first. It was about *Trump's* inappropriate behavior. And *that* has nothing to do with which way someone voted. I am not questioning whether the election was stolen or not (the electoral college is the way we have agreed to run elections).

But what I *am* doing is criticizing the behavior of the president and his complete tone-deafness to the views of others.

The *duly elected* president is an imbecile with no sense of compassion.

Trump is indeed criticismworthy & cringeworthy.
But some posters are unsatisfied with calling him out for wrongful
behavior, & make it about personal enmity towards his supporters
&/or voters. And so the conversation heads in that direction.

I have advice for them....
Impeachment & conviction, however likely or not, loom close to the
upcoming election. So Pence wouldn't be the replacement for long.
I recommend running a worthy candidate against him.
That is far & away the best solution to regime change.

I would point out that you are the one who brought up Clinton, out of nowhere. It seems that you are the one who can’t let it go.

And I mostly agree. But the reason we have the option for impeachment is exactly the type of behavior this president is exhibiting.

It would seem out of nowhere to anti-Trumpers.
But typical of them, they're blind to how he arrived in office.
The OP dealt with fitness. His cannot be considered in a vacuum.
And now one poll has her the front runner among Democrats.

As for letting go, read the OP & posts by anti-Trumpers to me.
It's unremitting hostility & insult, while I am a paragon of kindness
& magnanimity. So about letting go....
I kept the greater of 2 evils out of office with my vote.
My equanimity endures.
