Can someone please explain to me why a "drag show" is suddenly the epitome of evil?

So according to you the vast majority of people throughout history were sociopaths and only recently have mankind evolved to understand to the point of not being sociopaths? Really???
I said there were two kinds. Not one. Not three. Two.

Do you need me to explain that further?

Your human right to swing your fist ends where my nose begins. Do you agree?
Sure. But that also means your human rights ends long before you kidnap someone, put them in chains, whip and beat them, and make them work for you.

You right to swing your fist does not give you the right to enslave people.

It’s about the politics of the matter. Crossdressers are being lumped into the LGBT+ category, Disney characters, Priests, Disney Characters, and all the other characters you mentioned are not. So their push back is against the LBGT political war.
Oh I see. Bigots being bigots.
I remember folks telling me similar stories about the infamous “Satanic Panic” back in the 80s
Just with I dunno Demons and stupid DnD stuff.
Dumb then and dumb now.
I’m sorry, but that’s what it sounds like to me. Just with changed enemies
“Omg they’re grooming our children. Damned political agenda!!”

Probably happened when integration was new in society too, right?
The politics is what people supposedly disagreed with.
I’m sorry, but what you’re telling me is the same exact propaganda we were taught about in history class when the end lesson ultimately came down to showing us bigots being bigots. The similarity is startling, ngl

I never said it does, I'm saying there must always be limitations of human rights in order for us to live with each other, because eventually my rights will impose on yours and visa versa.

If anyone wanting to read to kids passes a drug test and a criminal background check, I have no big problem with these events. The reason for this is that anyone who is even slightly familiar with the gay drag "community" knows how riddled with drug use this group is. Part of the reason they can be so fricken outrageous is because they are likely high as a kite. Not, the best role models for young kids.
Do they give out drugs to the kids?

If someone smokes say, marijuana, are they allowed to be around kids? What drugs are we talking about here? How do we know drag queens are "riddled with drug use?"

Sexual inappropriate is different from sexually dangerous.

I've been to many concerts growing up. Didn't see many young kids at them. Have you?
I went to several concerts as a kid. Tiffany and New Kids on the Block come to mind (please don't judge me :D)

New Kids even did a "sexy" number where Jordan Knight had a fan blowing his shirt off his body while he sang that I went crazy for when I was 12.
Was I being exposed to something harmful to me?

*sigh*

In the capacity of reading to children? Absolutely not. Likewise, if they are hungover. Nope.

I suppose my so-called "lived experience" means nothing here as it does not support your sagging narrative. Drug use is RAMPANT in this particular community based on my direct experience. My direct experience was that the party never ended in this "community" and that party was fuelled by commonly obtained illicit drugs and other legal but abused drugs. Drugs were literally treated like candy.

Proving this point might be difficult because this is one aspect of the "gay experience" that the LGBTetc crew dont want you to hear about.

For your reading pleasure from the illustrious CDC, no less...

I don’t see the intolerance as increasing, as society changes, there has always been parts of society who objected to such changes.
And their intolerance of change increases as a result. Because now they are being faced with it.
We have those, they are called “laws”. In this case, the objections are not about laws, but morality.
The laws are being tested as society is becoming more tolerant of alternatives to traditional "morality", and the bigots are trying to change the laws to make them far more intolerant. And this is driving a wedge into our social cohesion. The question is, how do we deal with this before it tears our society apart?
I disagree. The older a child gets, the less influence parents have over them, and they get influence from other sources.
Or they grow beyond the reach of anyone's influence. And they are now too damaged to be repaired, or to repair themselves. Why should we allow their parents to poison them with these bizarre anti-social ideals in the first place?
By the time the child becomes an adult, society has far more influence over them than their parents.
Yes, the damage is done, and by then it's too late. Because our society is not in the business of helping people with a damaged psyche.
When you look at women's rights, immigrants rights, minority rights, gay rights, etc. all of these rights were accomplished without appealing directly to children. If the parents are wrong, allow the children to find out on their own.
They can only do that when they have been exposed to the alternative possibilities. And that's exactly what these fascist parents want to stop from happening.

Well, what was the point about bringing drugs into the discussion?
In the capacity of reading to children? Absolutely not. Likewise, if they are hungover. Nope.
Hmm, then I guess I shouldn't have read all those stories to my niece and nephew all those years. Their parents too.
Apparently we're criminals or something.

I still don't know what drugs you're actually talking about.

Do you think that people who use (hard?) drugs in a party setting are behaving the same way all the time in non-party settings?
I mean, I've been known to drink alcohol at a bar, but I've not been known to drink alcohol at work.

I don't know why we're going on about this. Have the drag queens reading to kids been found to be hopped up on drugs?
If not, what's the problem?

Oddly, call me silly for even thinking that kids deserve better. What was I thinking?

Meth and molly are popular.
An unfortunate feature of minority groups is an increased likeliness of abusing drugs. The queer community at large is nonstranger or exception to this. Even the LGBT center in LA offers drug testing services to make sure your drugs aren't contaminated with drugs that actually are likely to kill you with recreational usage (such as fentanyl).
Of course it's a bogus claim to assume someone is using drugs jhst because this person is a drag queen, but it's a disservice to the community to try to sweep the problem under the rug.

The former of these is much worse than the latter, in my opinion. Though I suppose abuse of any drug is a problem, whether recreational or pharmaceutical.

Yes, it definitely is.

We have those centres here as well. I'm not sure they're tied in with the LGBTQ+ community specifically though. But I don't really know enough about them.

Agreed. Thanks for answering my questions and providing some information.
