Where did all the Muslims, in RFs, go?!

We used to have many Muslims here, in RF..

Most of them were sunnis..

Some of them were Wahhabis and extermists..

Some seem to support the terrorists..

However it seems that most of them have left..

I think part of the story has to do with the rise of Islamophobia, around the world, and hence here in our platform..

For me I stayed for two reasons:

Firstly, being a Shia Muslim means that I See all of the Muslim Caliphs, except for Ali and his son (they are the prophet Muhammad cousin and grandson) are corrupt leaders who hijacked Islam..

So, to a degree, I distinguish between Islam as a religion , and the History of the Muslims, throughout which the Shiites have been persecuted..

Secondly, I am very open-minded person, and have no problem talking with people who have harsh opinions about Islam and the Muslims..

So, what is your take on the subject?!!

@danieldemol 's post may have merit; I really have not followed enough threads on the subject to pass comment.
However, it is interesting to to note that only yourself, a Shia and @paarsurrey , an Ahmadi are the only 2 active Muslims and both groups are a persecuted minority, mainly by other Muslims (as far as I know), who post here.

Btw, I have read some of your postings and hope you will continue here.

:)

I actually believe there are a few other Muslims still active on this forum such as:
@firedragon @Firemorphic @Niblo @Link @Wasp @Limo @Pastek @j1i

There may be more. I really enjoy discussing and learning about Islam and the Quran. I can’t do that properly without Muslims like yourself being around. I hope you continue to stick around and feel valued here.

Id like to say it’s a pleasure having you here. I’m a westerner who accepts Muhammad as a Prophet(PBUH) and loves the Quran very much. Having studied it a lot I find it to be a beautiful religion.

Still lurking.......but with a life outside of RF! Merry Christmas :)

I have noticed that Muslims tend to feel unconfortable with even the vaguest, most ephemeral apperance that they might be criticizing Islaam. To the best of my understanding, that would make them appear disloyal, perhaps even to themselves.

That naturally leads to making them somewhat less confortable than average in online forums such as this. That is probably one reason why they quote the Qur'an so often and invite others to do the same.

Generally speaking, Muslim attitudes run much more towards inviting others to learn of Islaam and join it than in being confortable among non-Muslims.

Here in RF Muslims will of course have a lot of exposure to non-Muslim perspectives. And there will not be a lot of separation between Shias and Sunnis (and Ahmadiya) either.

That may easily be explanation enough.

They passed down all the roads long ago, and the Red Bull ran close behind them and covered their footsteps.

Shia Islaam's status as a pérsecuted minority is highly situational.

They are certainly not such currently in Iran or Iraq. A good argument can be made that Shia Islaam is in fact an imperialistic and militaristic force, all the way down to staging proxy wars with the Sunni - and that is without even taking the attitude towards non-Muslims into consideration.

Shias used to be oppressed in Iraq, now they are arguably the oppressors there.

Frankly, the belief in Ismah is... not advisable. And I can't help but feel a bit wary of the celebration of Ashura as well.

Well, I'm glad you are still here! I love having the divergence of opinions, and there is just something not right about a religious forum that has no muslims.

I don't know why they left. I think people tend to go where they find others like them. A certain tipping point came where probably a lot of muslims just felt like they were the odd man out and also left. Just my two cents worth.

Just a quick "shout-out" to my friend and brother @firedragon ... He's still active.

But beyond that...

I think they left because their doctrine wouldn’t withstand independent scrutiny.

I also think Islamophobia is a made up word to conflate hatred of and bigotry towards Muslims with legitimate criticism of Islam

No Daniel. This is not it at all. Muslims in general do not desire approval from non-Muslims. It's not like that at all.

And Islamophobia is alive and well in the Jewish community. I have first hand knowledge. It is most often found in the elder generation. But, the Islamophobic elders look for opportunities to indoctrinate the children with their own poisoned point of view.

If you deny it, you are denying the truth, just like flat-earth advocates. If you say Islamophobia doesn't exist, then you're in denial.

Daniel, I know that you are aware of the way Muslims are persecuted and put in camps in China. I repeat. Muslims are being put into concentration camps... right now. In modern times. Add to that there are people like you, who deny that Islamophobia exists. Add to that the ignorance about Islam and the ignorance about the ignorance. And that people hate Muslims without knowing the religion.

It's pretty darn depressing isn't it?

That's what going on. People are discouraged. Their hearts could be breaking, and the opinion you presented is like stomping on a person's broken heart.

That's why.

I totally get that you don't like Islam. And I totally get why you don't like Islam. What I don't get is what appears to be:

Total.
Lack.
Of Empathy.

Why would anyone come to a forum to discuss religion when there is no empathy for a their chosen religion and their struggle geo-politically.

Why?

They wouldn't.

If Muslims have on-mass decided to boycott or leave ReligiousForums.com, I take it as a measure of their commonsense and the ability to prioritise what it important in their lives, rather than a measure of moral or intellectual cowardice. They are clearly very sensible and well-adjusted people. Good luck to them frankly. :)

There sure is a lot of projection about a new caliphate and who wants one.. The crack pots have been doing that for nearly 100 years now.

Gratefully, there are those of us, like @sooda and myself, who will do the work of researching and defending Islam ( the religion ) and supporting peaceful Muslims against stereotypes that miss-represent them.

Why would anyone be afraid of peaceful Muslims?
There are people who think the two are mutually exclusive. The words I have seen here on RF are something like this:

"There are two Islams. One in the public, and one in private. The one in private is the "real" Islam. The other version is "fake" and it is just what They want outsiders to see. All Muslims are violent on the inside."

If you want evidence of this, PM me, and I can easily pull the quotes for you.
