Is the Garden of Eden in South Africa?

What do you think about the theory that says that the Garden of Eden is in South Africa?

Interestingly, many old maps inscribe the Southernmost Africa with a ring, from which four rivers emerge.

What do you think?
Pretty silly - probably invented by Calvinist South African religious wingnuts.:D

The Genesis story is clearly from, and about, people living in the Fertile Crescent of the Middle East.

Actually, there is DNA evidence that indicates that modern humanity (homo Sapiens) originated from one area in central to southern Africa.

This of course does not speak of any “Garden of Eden” in the biblical sense in any way.
But....we’re all cousins. :D

Ain't genetics complex
Nevertheless you should not trust this data.
Science also says that mankind and the earth are over millions of years old. Although the Bible says that we are in the year about 5500. Science also says that there was no worldwide flood, the Bible says there was. Science also says that we humans and monkeys have a common ancestor, the Bible of course does not say that.
Science contradicts the Bible in many ways.

You have to consider that humanity has started twice. Once with Adam and once with Noah.

Actually, the bible indicates there were others on Earth when Adam was created -Adam was simply the first to be made with the potential to live forever -in the image and likeness of God.
Cain was worried what people who found him would do to him -and he also found a wife outside of Eden.
This is also a more logical explanation for the distinction between the "sons of God" and the "daughters of men" (as opposed to angels mating with humans -as they are not married/given in marriage).

And which has the better pedigree for being 'true'?
The Bible is woefully wrong about the age of the Earth; there has been no evidence found for a world-wide flood.
Humans and monkeys do have a common ancestor
The Bible says the Earth has a firmament - ????

What do you think?

Nope.. Probably in the Bahrain archipelago.. It was called Dilmun and had lots of fresh water springs.. The clay tablets date back to before Genesis and exodus.

Yeah, what's with that anyway? It must reflect the culture of the time; keepin' it all in the family.

.

I was thinking of Norse and Greek mythology in particular.. I'm not especially knowledgeable on the subject.
