It is real in the eye of the beholder
And that's all that need be said.

We imagine concepts like heat or coldHow can reality be imagined or made up?
So heat and cold don't actually exist but are concepts that we made up to help better understand the world? We imagine concepts like heat or cold
The only 'reality' we have is the one we carry in our minds as a result of our limited experience and understanding of 'what is'.But one definition of ideal states that ideal means "existing only in the imagination; desirable or perfect but not likely to become a reality." How can reality be imagined or made up? That seems paradoxical to me. Reality can't be real if it's imagined since it can be whatever anyone wants it to be and therefore not objective.
We mistake the map for the territoryThe only 'reality' we have is the one we carry in our minds as a result of our limited experience and understanding of 'what is'.
The truth is 'what is'. Reality is what we think 'is', is.
Unfortunately, we humans are so accustomed to just blindly presuming that what we think is real, is 'what is' real, that we don't even have two different terms for designating the difference. We call them both "reality" when in fact one is what we think reality is, and the other is 'what is' regardless of what we think.
Jacob's LadderHas anyone ever considered that DNA, the building blocks of life, are symmetrical and beautiful?

But isn't reality defined as that which is real? Isn't truth defined as that which comports with reality? So how can reality be subjective but truth objective if they're basically the same thing?Unfortunately, we humans are so accustomed to just blindly presuming that what we think is real, is 'what is' real, that we don't even have two different terms for designating the difference. We call them both "reality" when in fact one is what we think reality is, and the other is 'what is' regardless of what we think.

They don't do beautiful things, we see them as beautifulBUT!!! Why do trees do beautiful things when it's unnecessary to their survival?

Yeah I agree. I don't understand how those things are concepts that we created.I think temperature is real. Just like space, matter and gravity are real.
They don't do beautiful things, we see them as beautiful
She also thinks she has a great guy we all know thats total BSM. which brings me Back to john prine inspite of ourselves! So true. For example: my wife thinks running horses are beautiful; I just see them as a waste of a good pair of boots.
Correct. Belief is delusional. As well as non belief and agnosticism. We mistake the map for the territory
Its also mentally unhealthy for some. The mentally ill all spin into a kind of reductive reality of self reference. It happened to nietchze but it happens in all arenas of human thought. Its normal. That's called reductionism, which is harmful to human growth.
That doesn't make sense. How can belief and non belief both be delusional? And if they're both delusional then what are the other non delusional options, if there are any?Correct. Belief is delusional. As well as non belief and agnosticism.
