This needs its own thread. It certainly looks like the Japanese generally have less of nudity taboo than western people. And there is no point in denying that their fiction has lots of drama and exageration, often involving gender roles.
Myself, I find that fascinating. I have the good fortune to live reasonably close to the biggest colony of Japanese descendents outside Japan. It is such a clash of values, with so much useful to learn from each other!
Mirai Shounen Conan is an intriguing anime. It seems to have been dubbed and shown in Portugal, but not here in Brazil. I get the vibe that it has some real good values, and obviously a very clean, wholesome drawing style as well.
Last but not least, I'd like to suggest that the average Arab and the average Japanese approach their fiction in fairly different ways. Broadly speaking, I get the impression that most Japanese are all too aware of their own perversions (to whatever degree they may have then) and decided that feelings of shame are not true repentance, so they don't make too much effort to hide their feelings. Traditional as it is, Japanese culture has a healthy tolerance for deviant behavior.
Ultimately, I feel that I am generalizing too much out of desire for understanding and predicting other people.
Sir,The Moderation Team, better known as the "Mod Squad", was kind enough to accept me as a member in training. I look forward to being useful in some capacity.
I usually talk a lot about myself through the topics, but just in case, feel free to ask questions here.
I'm an Buddhist of what I consider to be an orthodox attitude, which means that I seek a lot of my own answers and interpretations. I'm Brazilian, 41 years old. I'm also, and have been as far as I remember, a strong atheist, agnostic, and apatheist - meaning that I definitely do not believe that there is any god, but recognize that it is not possible for a human to prove anything on the matter. As an apatheist, I don't think that is a particularly important matter to settle, either.
Religion is and has always been a topic of interest to me. IMO, it is because there is no God that religion is of paramount importance - we ought to look for each other, because no one Above will. I define Religion as the art of dealing with the conflict between the need of making mundane decisions and the desire of being pure and attuned to higher abstract principles. As such, it is not opposed to science, but rather basically oblivious to natural sciences while also partnered and to some extend guided by social and human sciences.
I have a strong personal interest in the exchange of information through internet. Enthusiasm for PHP forums such as this one and for wiki systems such as Wikipedia came naturally for me. I wish I had more time to learn and become fluent with all those interesting matters.

Other than my age? I have emphasized by atheism, embraced anti-atheism, and become more critical and more demanding of religious beliefs in general.
Hi Luis.
Could you elaborate on your beliefs regarding Nation/Territory?
Cheers for the reply, my next post is regarding a different topic.
I think you're a very thoughtful and intelligent person, Luis.
You're one of the very few people on RF whom I've never seen "break" or lose-one's-temper during a debate.
I want to ask you if you have any tips for being able to formulate such detailed and methodical opinions on complex issues: does it come natural to you? Or do you often feel mentally overwhelmed etc?
I notice that you also like to focus a lot on exploring Ethics. This is probably just an inaccurate stereotype that I hold: but I've always assumed that "intelligence" and "Ethics" were almost mutually exclusive - yet you tend to delve into both (which I admire).
Do you ever feel as though there is a battle between Intelligence and Ethics?
I know Sunstone regrets having you as a mod! Muhahaha!
Are you married?
Do you believe in any sort of an afterlife, like rebirth?
No.
Rebirth, yes, but it is very much a stretch to call my conception of it an afterlife.
Far as I know and believe, people do indeed die for good. I would not want it any other way even if I had the choice.
It is a good thing that we all die as individuals.
