Through the Looking Glass
Our son had horrible GI problems when he was first diagnosed. We took him to a pediatric GI specialist and a colonoscopy revealed GI lesions for no apparent reason (at 18 months old, btw). He would not eat protein, wasn't gaining weight and had almost no muscle tone.Gluten free diet!! al look into that now... thanks v much.
Because she has only been diagnosed with autism just a few weeks, not much has been done. she got diagnosed because of obvious visual symtoms as mentioned.
Jenny is gonna start seeing a special dietician soon hopefully.
Thanks for your reply doppelganger

After some research, we switched to a GF diet and started him on methyl-B12 and all of his GI symptoms resolved in a single week. It was amazing. And his autistic behaviors began noticeably improving almost immediately as well. Now if he sneaks a piece of wheat bread or a cookie, the problems come back for a day or two afterward - though nowhere near as severe as when he was little.
That's not to say that this is what is going on with your daughter. But it's worth looking into.
